My 2 year old son is constantly touching his anus. Whenever his diaper is off, his fingers are up his bottom. He's been doing this for some time now. He currently has a bad rash and he's making it irritated by touching himself. I've read articles about this behavior possibly being a sign of sexual abuse...but I'm sure this is not the case. Are there any other explanations and solutions for this?

Did you mention this to your doctor? I have been reading about signs of sexual abuse in children and this is one of them so it would be wise to consult with your doctor just in case.
And the only thing I can connect to this is maybe because you are trying to forbid him to do this he is stubborn and he is asking for attention. Do you spend enough time with him? And is he doing this only when he is with you or even when you are somewhere outside your house?
It has been a while since you have posted this question so I am curios have you managed to resolve this problem and if you did how? Did you find out what was the cause of this strange behavior? I hope that everything turned out well.
