Over a year ago I had a symptom of what felt like a swelling in my neck under my right jaw line. At that time I was smoking so I went to a head & neck doctor to make sure nothing was wrong. After some test and scans, the doctor found nothing wrong and felt that everything looked normal. Shortly after the visit I quit smoking thinking maybe the issue lied within that but the issue still continued months later and I continually visited the doctor to only be told the same thing by three different doctors. Feeling beaten I gave up on seeing the doctors and just accepted whatever was happening was some strange unexplained phenomenon that was apart of life. Recently though, within the last 6 months I have noticed other things like a tenderness on the right side on the base of my neck and an inner ear pressure that isn't painful but is slightly annoying kind of like when you change elevations, but it never goes away. So again I went back to the doctor with no success of a diagnosis. After becoming a little fed up with being told nothing is wrong, I took a picture with my camera phone to see for myself what was going on and noticed my right tonsil (on the left in the picture attached below) looks very odd from the other tonsil. In the last month I have also noticed after a sharp pain where my tonsil is located that I can taste a small hint of blood, and tonight I even spit a tiny amount up. I am getting to a breaking point on whooping a doctors ass if I am told again that everything is alright. Any ideas? I would like to go to the next doctors appointment with some information in hand so I can get this problem resolved. Also I am not sure if it could be related in anyway, but I do wear braces as well.

Your tonsils look similar to mine. I also have a stabbing/sticking pain in mine from time to time. I am scheduled to have mine removed in two wks.
