I'm 29/f and I had my surgery last Thursday.
The first 3 days weren't very painful but every day since then has been pretty miserable.
The pain has shifted positions and is now mainly in my ears and the sides of the rear of my mouth. It's driving me crazy and the tramadol they prescribed takes the pain from an 8 to a 6. Today I was able to eat soup and bread without he painkillers but then the pain came back and I couldn't eat again. So far I've lost 10 pounds.
My uvula was super swollen the day of but is now only twice as big, but I'm still unable to speak, or whisper for that matter.
I'm wondering if anyone has started drooling while sleeping? I can't sleep without drooling now, which really bothers me! I've started folding up Kleenex and positioning it underneath my mouth before I sleep and whenever I wake up to use the restroom or drink, I have to prepare a new one.
I'm hoping this isn't a permanent thing because that would suck.
On a side note, even though I'm on the verge of depression, I can breathe better after getting the damn tonsils out and I'm sure I'll feel much healthier after this ordeal is over. Still hating it though.
