June 10th is Day #2 of my tonsillectomy recovery. Day 2 seems to be the equivalent of day 1. Pain is well managed on Percocet 10/325mg every 5-6 hours. I have to crush them and then I am able to get them down pretty easily. Don't forget to drink or eat something small so your stomache doesn't get upset. I have been eating Applesauce, Ensure, or Yogurt with my pain medications. Your throat feels knife-like pains, especially worse when swallowing. I also experienced ear pains and sinus pressure above my eyes and at the bridge of my nose. You will still not be able to talk because talking makes the pain sooo much worse. I have been responding to all of my phone calls via text for the time being. Also remember to keep up your hydration. I was able to drink 4 bottles of water and 1 Ensure today. Make sure you set small goals for yourself and try to accomplish them. Again: ICE packs are unreplaceable. Grandmom took the kids to Chik-fil-a for dinner tonight because the kids were pretty rammed up after school. They kept jumping on my bed so they weren't allowed to visit me for long. Jumping on the bed: SO NOT OK.
