On May 5th I had Transurethral Microwave Therapy done on my prostate. I cut the catheter tube every two to three weeks, monitor my urination (if there is any) for 6 to 8 hours and if there is no purging, I return to my urologist's office and he replaces the catheter. Then we do the whole cycle over again. From what I have found on-line it seems that it can take anywhere from one week to up to four months before a person having this procedure is able to urinate "normally" again. I've also read that the procedure only helps 70% of the patients that have it done. Any up to date information would be greatly appreciated. Meanwhile, I wait and remain positive.
