Daniella, I'm guessing you got your diagnosis from your doctor or a sexual health centre? Many reproductive infections have similar symptoms, making home diagnosis less accurate than you need.

This advice is based on you having received a diagnosis from a medical professional.

In the medication line, Canestan cream or suppositories are the usual drug of choice. You need to use them until all the symptoms have cleared completely.

Within natural treatments, you can use yoghourt (put a dollop on a clean finger and wipe the yoghourt inside). You will need to use this overnight for several nights in a row to get results, but its an old home remedy that doesn't sting and is quite effective for mild yeast infections. You can also buy proprietary ti-tree douches and creams for the treatment of thrush.

By the way, a chronic thrush infection can also be relieved by removing sugar completely from your diet, as the yeast infection bug thrives on sugar.

Good luck!
