I had a lump on the left side of my neck. I got tests done like sonography of neck, chest x-ray and blood test. The chest x-ray was normal but the sonography showed the lymph nodes on the left side of my neck are enlarged and its size was 3.1x1.5 cms and the blood test showed that my ESR was lil more. On insistence of dr i got my fnac test of the lump done which showed tuberculosis of lymph nodes. The dr has suggested excisional biopsy of the lump. Is there a chance that the fnac test reports can be wrong? Is there a need for biopsy when fnac has already diagnosed the disease? And if it is tuberculosis how is it gng to be treated?
