Ok...I've been posting on here for several months now. I've had my vertigo/dizziness for over 7 months now. It started hard and to the point where I couldn't stand up and was sick to my stomach. I had a lot of ringing in my ears as well. I no longer feel like I"m spinning out of control and no more ringing. I'm finally out of Texas and getting checked by new doctors to figure this out. Texas doctors really didn't help much at all and some had NO clue what to do. So, I'm now in MA and getting some help. The doctor I saw asked me if I felt dizzy or like I was drugged. I feel like I'm drugged. The "dizziness" makes me feel like I'm drugged or hung over or something along those lines. I've had 2 ct scans and one mri and all have come back normal (thank God!). My doctor really thinks it's inner ear. They're ruling out BPV right now, but there's still the possibility of it. They're going to check for Menieres Disease as well. Another possibility, that my doctor thinks happened, is that I had a bad inner ear infection at one point that caused damage to the, I think he said, vestibular nerve (it was something to do w/ the vestibular part of the ear or what ever). If this is true the brain is supposed to learn to compensate and balance one out. Mine has not! (figures) If they find this is what's going on I will go to Vestibular Rehab to train my brain to correct the "dizziness". My cousin has the same thing I have ( I just found out) and he's had it for over a year. Since I've talked about this, around where I live, I'm finding out how many people have this! It's crazy! Out of the people I've heard of that have been fixed from it it has been either BPV or Allergies! So, I plan on asking them to do the BPV theropy and allergy tests. Doesn't hurt. Also, I found some BPV exercises, that you can do at home, that I've started doing again and it's helping a little bit here and there. It's all worth a shot! But, I'm still miserable and it's very frustrating to live like this. Like I said, in the past, I will keep updating people of my progress and if any one wants to ask me anything or talk about w/ me you can email me (_[removed]_) All I ask is you NOT load up my email w/ c**p!

A couple of months ago I had all of the above problems for at least 3 1/2 to 4 years, as a last resort I decided to go to a nutritionist, he was able to prescribe me different supplements. After 4 days I felt better and I am still feeling great a couple of months later. You really have nothing to loose.

We are back from the doctor and the current diagnosis is Atypical Meniere's disease. I do think the ENT dropped the ball on this one. He should have done these 2 tests (ENG and ECOG) in the very beginning. The internal medicine doctor seemed surprised he did not. The ENT today said that was the next thing he planned to do!! It should have been done BEFORE surgery in my opinion. a month ago he insisted that the inner ears were fine but now says it is an imbalance in the fluid in the inner ears. Apparently this is the cause of Meniere's but in my husband's case it does not stop as Meniere's usually does. His is chronic...never goes away. He has also been feeling drugged and that confused the issue as well as the blood pressure/pulse surges from anxiety when sick.
Anyway he is starting a somewhat homemade treatment of histamine phosphate under the tongue and Niacin. Only a couple of drug stores in town make the drops. The ENT said it is 70% effective in 3-5 days so we shall see. I do hope this works. He did mention surgery sometimes being necessary but that he did not think it would be needed in his case. He said we should still see the neurologist scheduled for tomorrow and get his input. We are to take all the info to him from today's tests.
The test did put him on the verge of getting sick again even with the antinausea medication in his system.
I wonder if some of the others of you may have been given the same diagnosis??? I just hope this is right and he can start getting back to normal. I'll keep you posted.

Good to know about the nutritionist and the Mineare's Disease. I had an ENG test done and they tested my hearing. My hearing came back perfect and I was only off by 3% on the ENG (that's why the ruled out BPV) They are re-doing the audiogram and ENG though (up here ). So, we'll have to see. Strange thing is my dizziness goes away at night about 80% of the time. It goes away when I run or am moving fast or focusing on certain things. When I drive for a long period or am in a car for a long period it goes away. After I stop and get out it starts to come back, but hard and i feel as if I'm on a boat and my eyes start to jump around b/c they're trying to focus. This is def. inner ear. I hate this!

I lost my last message...We went to the neurologist today and he thinks he is ok neurologically. He agrees this is inner ear. He did seem to think he may be on his way out of it...for now anyway. I hope this never happens again but if it does we know what to do anyway. LOTS of anti nausea medicine is about the only relief for him. From what I read online the histamine phosphate and niacin have not been shown to help. We are trying it anyway for now.
I am pretty concerned about future attacks after reading the info on meniersinfo.com. A pretty gloomy picture! I hope it is exaggerated.
Please keep me posted of any new developments. We may need to buy the book!

yes; experience nausea espicailly when get hot flashes.
Indigestion.
Use digestgive enzymes and stomach/indigestion cured.
Had vertigo in past as result of using too much natural progesterone cream and also taking blACK COHOSH AND OTHER HERBS.
wAS ALMOST SYMPTOM FREE FINALLY AT AGE 50.
nOW PERIODS 40 DAYS APART. MUSCLE TENSION/PAIN mainly when eat alot sugar, caffine, diet cola/aspartame.
Went chiropractor for back alignment and she talked me into neck adjustment and that caused ears ringing.
went to new chiropractor and fixed my neck, ringing much less but am also trying to get excess wax removed from ears.
i think menapause can cause excess wax buildup at times.
Nurse said use debrox ear drops one day month and ears won't build up wax.
Also; lack of iodine and eating soy can impair thyroid hormone in body and cause fatique and other problems.
menapause can cause alittle temporary thyroid hormone imbalance but eating soy magnifies it.
Frequent urination without bladder infection is a menapause symptom.
Cornsilk tea helps.
Natural progesterone cream helps alot of menopause symptoms but can impair thyroid hormone balance and cause other side effects.
Its better than surgery for fibroids and ovarian cysts though...
Progesterone cream can help cure these problems.
Avoid creams with herbs and chemicals PARABEN>>> added.
Natural organic diet is best;no sugar, no white flour, low caffine, avoid storing food/drink in plastic;
(of chemicals, Unnatural estrogens that cause many menopause sysptoms are in plastic. also in meat that is treated with hormonews, pesticides and other chemicals.

Hi everyone. I am 30 years old and my symptoms started in January. Same thing as most of you, REALLY dizzy for a few weeks and then it faded to a kind of permanent haze. I've had blood tests, CT scans, trying chiro and acupuncture now. Just trying to get clear. If anyone hears ANYTHING, please post it here so the rest of us can try it too. Thanks guys.

Ill be taking your suggestions to my doctor for further analysis, and keep updated on this forum.
Keep on truckin guys

i have been reading this webpage i am not a doctor but with doing alot of research in the area ie, reading alot of books and having many friends with similar symptoms this i can put my life on it is brought on by stress in your life and anxiety. This is your bodys way of telling you to slowdown stop and think you are not coping. You maynot feel stressed and u may b shocked at how quickly it came on but u need to force yourself to change yourlife and do things that make you laugh remember what its like to laugh do alittle exercise force yourself, do dont take on to many peoples problems u owe it 2 yorself 2 look after yorself,This may seem a simple answer but this is an illness called MODERNLIFE.We are slowly killing r selves for things that r not needed it is r own faults

I am a 25 year old female with exactly the same symptoms as you all have described. Feeling dizzy and drugged-like I could pass out at any moment. They began in March. I have had all the bloodwork, EKG, Holter Monitor, CT Scan, etc-nothing wrong. I do not buy the anxiety/panic line. There are too many people with the exact situation for doctors to write us off that easily. I have never had a major medical problem in my life, and I just cannot accept that the rest of my life will be lived in this haze. I feel there must be some common factor to all of this. I am hoping to find something in common that could give some sort of explanation. So here is everything relevant about me that I can think of. I would greatly appreciate any responses from similarities from any of you. If the doctors can't figure it out, perhaps we can do it ourselves.
Age 25, Female, 5'10", 135lbs
Happily Married
2 kids
Smoke 1 pack a day for 9 years
Drink only occasionally
No illegal drug use (Smoked a little pot years ago)
History of Migraine and Lactose Intolerance
Wear glasses nearsighted about 20/50
Blood Pressure runs fairly low, but no one seems concerned
Blood Type O-
Active Lifestyle (Softball, Volleyball)
Moderately Stressful Job (Production Management)
Symptoms started while smoking a cigarette (nothing out of the ordinary!)
Very severe for about 3 weeks, now just the permanent haziness
Symptoms seem worse in loud places, and while driving
I typically have an excellent memory, and now I am putting groceries away in the laundry room and my glasses in the fridge...I am pretty sure I am too young for Alzheimers...
Any info you can add would be awesome!

I am 37 yrs old and have been dealing with similar symptoms for 2 yrs. I have seen 2 neurologists, had 2 MRI's, back & neck x-rays, tested for MS, Lyme Disease & nerve damage. All of these tests came back negative, which of course makes you feel like everyone thinks you're crazy. My acupuncturist suggested I see a neurological chiropractor which has been the only thing that's helped. I've also been doing a heavy metal detox for a year. The combination of the 2; detoxing heavy metals, and specialized adjustments has made a world of difference. I would suggest that anyone who hasn't gotten answers yet make an appt to see a neuro chiro.

I woke up last Saturday feeling dizzy & like I had a massive hangover. I have felt this way every day since, it's 5 days now. Went to a doctor today, he gave me Antivert, it doesn't seem to be helping. I have a very physical job, (I'm a girl, but I'm a mechanic's helper), and bending down to do stuff sends me inot worse dizziness than I already have all day. Any advice?

I have had this dizzy head heavy, close my eyes tight and feel me take off feeling for years. Not all the time though. when I was in my teens i was daignosed with benign vertigo, took antivert and mecazine (now OTC) it went away for years after about a three year period of every few months flair up. Then 10 years later it can back, I had forgotten about it almost. I at this time was dianosied with MS, yet this feeling of heavy head and just plain weirdness in my head came back. I have been told it is not connected by some dr's and by others that they don't know what it is. It is affecting me greatly now, the past 6 months has been of and on every few days and now a constant buzz. I am going in yet again today to yet another dr to see what they have to say. As far as tests, have had tons, MRI cat pet,VER , blood work, ekg, spinal tap, and plenty more blood work. I've had blood infusions and just nothing has seemed to help. I sound like a really sick miserable person here, yet I am (or previous to the last 6 months) am a really active normal person. I work full time as a CNA, go to school, have a good social life and faimly life. But now a days i barley can stand the depression and the forcing myself to go to work. I had to leave school for a bit, and try some new drugs, ie provigil for fatige, zoloft for dpression, and lots of extra iron for anemia. I take good care of myself, still try and walk once a day, take my vitams, and really try to keep an open mind with the herbal remedys out there. I want to wake up form this foggy dreamworld I am in!!! hope this helps anyone to feel at least they are not alone, and any advice is welcomed.
