I've had a lot of these same symptoms, especially the dizziness. I feel like I'm rocking on a boat, and I'm exhausted all the time. I too have been to tons of doctors and no one can figure out whats wrong. The only thing I've noticed is that my smyptoms get worse when I drink coffee. Black tea isn't so bad, but I would recommend eliminating coffee from your diet.

Have tried everything been to doctors unlimited times, came across this site a few days ago and just purchased SUDAFED over the counter, brilliant symptons are 90% gone. Thanks for the tip !!!

I don't feel so alone now. I am 32 years old, and am having the same symptoms as the rest of you have descibed, and the doctors couldn't find anything either. I have a job, but it is only 4 hours a day. My typicalday goes like this: Wake up between 6:00-6:30, my husband brings me coffee, my computer is beside my ed, while I ma drinking coffee, I check my e-mail. Around 7:30 I am okay enough to get in the shower. By 8:30 I am out the door heading to work. I work 9:00-1:00. Come home. And I am so tired by the time I get home, that I sleep anywhere from 1 hour to 2 hours. Sometimes upon getting up, I feel worse than when I layed down. My 12 year old daughter just does not understand. My husband has gotten used to this routine, though, and does not say much. I feel like I have zero energy. Am tired lmost all the time, and the dizziness comes and goes. I am also battling the depression-without any medication. I hope someone can hep.

Finding all of your postings both relieves me (finally I've found people who can relate to what I'm going through) and frustrates/depresses me to the point of tears (nobody seems to have answers - no diagnosis, no cure).

I'm a 35 year old female and have been dealing with many of the same issues for years. I've been for various tests over the years, but have not had any luck. My symptoms, like many of you, include:

-Extreme Fatigue - I feel tired all day long, regardless of the amount of sleep I get. napping does not help. My whole body feels drained, like gravity is pulling me down ten times more than usual. I wake up groggy, finally become alert, but then want to go back to bed after about an hour of waking up.

-Cloudy Head - I can't think, I can't follow conversations, i can't find the right words, I can't remember things (conversations I've had, emails I've written or received etc.) i can't focus, I am extremely unproductive, I FEEL STUPID. Feel like I'm watching the world, and not a part of it. Feel disconnected

-Mild dizziness/loss of balance, sometimes my head feels like it's ever so slightly swaying back and forth

-Constant buzzing in ears - the sound is hard to describe, kind of like electrical current. I can hear it now, but it is especially noticeable at night of course, and sometimes it causes me to lose sleep. Very annoying.

-ears feel like they are plugged and I can't pop them; feels like I have a loss of hearing too. Also sensitivity to sound - normal sounds sometimes become too loud and annoying (e.g. have to move the phone away from my ears)

-pressure around my eyes and nose. Also sore eyes that feel puffy/baggy most of the time

-mild to medium nausea

-sometimes feel fidgety and nervous; feel like I'm on drugs

-Decreased sensitivity of hands/feet - can't feel hot/cold water! Also get cuts, but never noticed getting hurt

-Neck/Head pain - stiff and sore, unbearable most of the time, and can't get relief unless I lie down or run (sitting in any position and walking don't help)

There are other symptoms, and I could go into much more detail, but i won't/can't because my stupid head is too cloudy to think. I am frustrated and starting to get depressed about feeling like this most of the year (probably about 80% of the time). When I don't feel like this I FEEL GREAT, which is sad because my "great" is probably somebody else's "normal".

I am heading to the doctor tomorrow to insist on systematically handling this very quickly. I had to back out of a trip to Paraguay this summer for a month because I'm feeling so crappy and don't think that I'll be able to teach down there. Some things that I want the doctor to do/check for are:

• MRI (e.g. for Chiari 1 Malformation)
• CAT scan
• Viral Labyrinthitis
• Hearing loss
• Meneire’s Disease
• Anxiety/Depression
• Hydrops
• M.S.
• Ankylosing spondylitis
• Adrenal Fatigue

That's a start at least. i feel as though people think I'm making this all up. That when I complain about being tired, they just don't understand how debilitating it actually is. I feel as though I might have to quit my job (College instructor - I NEED A FUNCTIONING, non-cloudy brain for that!)

I found out recently that I have pretty bad dust mite allergies, and am allergic to my cats. I have had all of the dust mite covers on my bedding for quite a while now, the cats aren't allowed in the bedroom, and I have an awesome hepa air purifier in my room. I also have been taking NasonEx for a long time. None of these things have helped my main symptoms (although I can breathe a little better at night). I have also done sinus rinses and have tried various allergy/sinus medications, which also have not helped.

My fatigue and foggy head are really disrupting my life, my ability to do things as simple as hold conversations, and have sent my self confidence down the drain. I don't want to meet new people, I don't have the energy to go out, and most days I can't fathom exercising, but will often force myself to anyway.

Thank you to everyone who has posted their frustrations and ideas. I'll keep posting my progress through my testing, although i have to admit that I am somewhat pessimistic that I'll ever find a "diagnosis" or anything to help lift the fog and give me more energy. I've had this for years, and it just isn't "going away".

It sucks when no one can diagnose you yet you experience all kinds of strange feelings and sensations . . .

I have the same problem, for almost 2 months now . . .

All began when I hit my head on a door while drunk . . . Started to get anxiety and panic attacking worrying what was wrong as I was experiencing fatigue, disorientation, lightheadedness, dizzeness, headaches, weightloss, various aches and pains, visual disturbances, ringing ears, ear ache, clogged ears - like liquid in there or something . . .

If there is anything that can go wrong with a head injury I thought I had it, from bleeding to cerebrospinal fluid leak.

I've had a record amount of local doctor appointments and been to hospital more than a few times, even went today when I noticed my nose had been bleeding a little during the night - although not all that uncommon when picking and rubbing but enough to scare me in my anxious state.

I got a CAT scan about 11 days ago from the hospital after a bunch of visits - they decided it would be cheaper . . .

So I prayed for good news, braced for bad and the Lord provided good news. My brain was healthy and normal.

My symptoms still continue and haunt me, maybe not so badly as within the first two weeks . . . I'll probs request a neurologist and make more visits and appointments as I get worked up but my outlook is positive . . . just got to keep ontop of things.

Stay positive people . . . anxiety can be a really debilitating thing.

All the best.

God bless.

I can't believe how many other like me there are. About 3 weeks ago I was diagnosed with a sinus and ear infection. I was prescribed the same anitobiotic I have been given several times before (although I hadn't had it in a couple of years). A week later I was back a the clinic with horrible stomach pain in the upper abdomen and chest pain. The dr. said that the infecrtion had gone systemic and moved into my stomach. "The antibiotics will kill that too". The VERY next day, I was at the ER as the pin had gotten worse. I had an abdominal x-ray and blood work and urine samples...all was fine - except I was extremely constipated. I sai, "I am not sure how that is possible, because I am very regular." The dr. said well...that is what it is. So he gave me some stuff to clean me out. 4 days later, I was back at the ER, with worse pain and nausea. It is making my back ache and chest ache. I was admitted for observation overnight. I had a CT Scan and an Ultrasound. The evening dr. I had seen suspected it was my gallbladder - by the dr. I saw the next day basically treated me like I was crazy. He said there is NO REASON why I should feel like this, I am perfectly fine. The nausea and dizziness is getting worse. I have had several episodes over the last 4 days where I get very hot, and feel like I am going to fall down. My breathing becomes heavy and fast, and I start to shake. I know it isn't an anxiety attack - I have had them because I have an anxiety disorder, which I have proudly recovered from! It was hard work - but something I pride myself on. I was diagonsed with Sleep Apnea a couple of months ago. Since I got the machine, I have been sleeping a lot better. And I was feeling great until all of this started. I also have a lot of tenderness on my upper right abdomen (around the rib cage) and along my obliques. It feels as though there is a lump there. My mother and mother-in law both have looked at this (they are both nurses) - and are CONVINCED that someting is really wrong. So I KNOW I am not nuts!! But I have no idea what to ask them to do. I am waiting for my internist appointment, but I am not sure that I can wait until July. Every day one or all of my symptoms get worse. I never know what to expect when I get up in the morning. My work is, of course, less than impressed by my "abuse of sick time". My supervisor is fighting for me, as he knows something is REALLY wrong. He discussed it with my husband - and has said as much. But the owner is a real jack-ass. I feel like I am at my witts end! What other things could they possibly explore????

I am a 24 year old woman and I have been feeling these symptoms too- they come and go and last only about 5 minutes or so- first I feel faint/dizzy/nauseous, then things start to look blurry, and then loss of balance/vertigo... then my ears start ringing- REALLY loud, and then the ringing fades and it's just like static in my ears- almost like a hissing- and then all sound around me starts to fade- as if i am tightly holding my ears or as if I am in a room with the door closed and the sound is in the other room. I also get headaches and muscle aches (particularly in my chest) and nauseous spells often. I wake up 3 or 4 times a night- I get hot and then cold. I don't have a fever. I get really hungry and then really full. Any ideas? I looked on web MD and after plugging my symptoms in I found a few possibilities but it seems like they are more common in adults over 40 and I'm only 24!

Hi, I am a 34 yr old female, experiencing a lot of unexplained dizziness. More like lightheadedness and unsteadiness. I've been to several doctors. Fist thought it was sinus related, now not sure. It doesn't feel the way vertigo is described, no spinning and its not worse when I lie down. Anyway, just went to a ent who specializies in hearing and balance. He suggested vestibular migranes. They last up to several weeks and can occur without headaches. Anyway, he was very good and is sending me for a full balance eval to see where my system is off. I also found this site on the web
http://www.dizziness-and-balance.com/

He said there are several options including meds and balance *PT* I have gotten to the point where even if we're never sure of the why, I just want to feel better :-)

the site is a very comprehensive listing of a ton of balance/dizziness conditions. I think the key is to stay positive and keep looking for answers. I think most ( though not all) docs want to help, but dizziness is so nonspecific and hard to diagnose. My neurologist said many people come to her for dizziness issues. It made me feel better that its so common. I found too, if I am open to what they are suggesting, they listen better. For example I have had several ask about anxiety. If that was it, I'd be OK with that, I have a family history and all that. But, the anxiety meds don't help. I'd be willing to try just about anything at this point to feel better. For the time being, I'm carrying on with my normal activities ( I have three small kids, I can't *stop*!) and trying not to get down. I do rest when I can. Lying down for me, helps me feel better.

Hang in there!

I’m a 35yr old male who is supposed to be healthy according to doctors’ tests but I sure don’t feel that way at all!
My symptoms: Heavy head feeling but not necessarily a headache. Just feel like I want to lay down. Slight nausea but it’s not always there. Eyes muscles feel like they are tense and want to close. If I try opening my eyes wider I get a burning feeling and they water. It also feels weird and makes me dizzy especially if when I open them wider I look around.
The heavy head gets really bad that I can’t get anything done whatsoever.

Other problems I have, not sure if related: Acid reflux, short term memory is terrible, focus & concentration, joint pains especially shoulders. Also arms now hurt and very weak and neck pain is increasing.

It's a relief to see others with similar to almost identical symptoms of mine. I've had my symptoms chronically for 5 years now. I'd get them more that half of the week every week and at various times of the day.
I'd done many blood tests & all came normal. I've been measuring my blood sugar too during every episode and all normal. I even decided to try to start drinking coffee but no use.
I exercised for a year but nothing got better. In fact, it just got worse. I'm an active person and I hate to waste time laying down or sitting at home. During intense episodes I could only lay down.
I've done MRI's, EEG, CAT scan, seen all assortments of doctors and now seeing a chiro, acupuncturist, & neurologist in addition to other doctors I've seen. I have almost completely lost faith in doctors and medicine.
I experimented at home to see if any medications would make any changes. Nothing. It's also hard to understand what turns the symptoms on and what turns them off.
In the past 4 months my symptoms stopped being chronic and became almost continuous. I had some breaks here and there and would get 1 day every 2 weeks without anything and I'd feel like I'm freed from hell.
I can't even play with my kids nor be productive.
I do force myself to work around the house and outside while I have the symptoms up to 60% in strength.
I read posts here from early 2007 and one of them made sense that the problem is a nerve in the neck being pinched or something similar. Here’s why I believe it is true:
Nothing else was found yet, I applied heat a couple of days ago to the back of my neck and used a massaging tool then the next morning I had the worst symptoms in a long time. It took hours for them to ease off. Then my wife massaged my neck and as she removed her hands my nausea came back with the slight dizziness with heaviness feeling.
I have been working a desk job for about 7yrs now. Always staring DOWN at the computer screens. As I drive home, I’m looking UP. On the way home, since the symptoms started, is when I get those feelings. There’s definitely a repetitive motion or stress issue on my neck.
I’ll update the posting once I talk to my neurologist about what I think it might be.

Im a 39yr old female who is also struggling with a list of symptoms that started up instantly about 5 months ago. Tiredness, dizziness- thinking its low iron (been on ferrous-c for 4 months - no change), neausea, funny gurgling tummy with loads of noxious gas, headaches, sore throat, stiff and sore feeling throughtout body. The thing about these symptoms is that they roll around in different combinations, differing intensities for varying lengths of time - sometimes intrusive, sometimes background level. Making me feel like Im a hypochondriac as Im constantly/daily reporting something different.

I have been on a calorie controlled diet for 7 months and have lost 20kg (baby weight) and also increased my exercise levels in this time. I am waiting for the wonderful "full of energy' feeling that Im supposed to get however its the opposite. Im constantly wanting to sleep and struggle with basic concentration - I've gone through 4 red lights in the the car in the last 2 weeks and put the cheese in the cutlery draw last night. I have been to the doc's twice and had blood/thyroid/iron etc....nothing out of the ordinary. Im booking in today for a colonoscopy as Im now paranoid about having something more serious. I will try the sudafed thing.

After reading these posts - Im thinking/hoping is that its some kind of wierd virus thats not been reported to the medical profession as yet and it will leave soon. Otherwise, Im getting quite low.

Ok, I am so happy to finally be able to relate to someone else.
I have been struggling on and off for a few years with extreme fatigue, weight flucuation, headaches, sharp head pains, low back pain, loss of concentration, vision changes, irritability and sometimes dizziness. Like you guys, they are varied day by day.
I am a single mother of 2 young children. Everyone says i'm just under a lot of stree but this has been going on since before my daughter was born. Although definatly worse since my children.
I have a very large gland on my neck but my thyroid function is normal along with other blood tests.
I don't know what is going on. I have a new doctor and am thinking of changing as he gave me migraine medication even though I told him it wasn't migraines. He told me to take those on the onset of a headache and if it doesn't improve within a month then he would order a MRI. I'm also have low back pain and low abdominal pain (possibly ovaries).
I don't know what is going on. but i want help. I was reading that sometimes if you had mono is the past that it could turn to chronic fatigue syndrome.
I don't know but i'm tired of people telling me i'm just stressed or maybe depressed.
I took a 4hr nap today and slept well last night and still feel like c**p..

I sympathize with everyone here . . . I have had symptoms for twelve months now: heavy head, dizziness, subtle nausea, fatigue, headaches, face pain, abdominal pain, sensitivity to noises and light, ringing in ears, muscle twitching, etc. Nearly every day I feel physically bad enough to go the emergency room . . . but of course, I already tried that once, and they were unable to help.

I feel like I've had every possible test known to man: MRIs, CT scans, heart test, vision tests, hearing test, blood tests, urine tests, inner ear tests.

I've also tried many different medications: migraine meds, diuretics, nasonex (what a joke!), antibiotics, thyroid hormones, low-dose naltrexone (which is used for autoimmune conditions), sudafed, and about 25 different vitamins/supplements suggested by doctors.

While I don't know what this condition is, I can make the following suggestions/observations: (1) Experiment with diet. I believe that part of this condition involves sensitivity to certain foods. In my case, I feel better (fewer symptoms) when I avoid caffeine and artificial sweeteners. I have no idea why this is -- I never, ever had a problem with these things until July 2007 when this condition began. (2) Realize that "regular," mainstream docs will probably not be inclined/able to help you. They aren't into root causes -- they just want to write you a prescription for something and get you out of their office as quickly as possible. [I mean, can you imagine thinking that Nasonex would fix all of the above symptoms???] So try to find a less traditional, more open-minded doc who will take this stuff seriously.

Finally, I'd be interested to hear others' thoughts/experiences on whether this could be mercury-related. See, e.g., http://www.mercurylife.com/
Did anyone else's symptoms coincide with dental "events" like getting fillings, or getting vaccinations, etc. like mine did?

around 6 months ago I went to the docs with fatigue, aching/heavy limbs,headache/ fuzzy head lack of concentration tearfulness around every 3 weeks and said that everything seemed like an effort. He said it could be menopause (im 43 and my mom had her menopsuse aged 38) he said he would check my hormone bloods and my thyroid tests, then he saew on the screen I had nursed my dad with a terminal illness 6 months earlier and said oh your depressed I argued I was not I was just "sick and tired of feelin sick and tired" Anyway my bloods came back normal so he suggested that I came off micronor the mini pill) because that could cause some of the symptoms I was having. that was 7 weeks ago and to be honest I dont feel any different apart from the fact now I have a period every 20 days (I never used to have periods on the pill and didnt miss them) and the weepyness happens around that time. Im glad im not alone but I wish I could feel like I used to im no longer enrgetic and i have no enthusiam for the little things like taking the dog a walk, my yoga class they all seem like too much effort and I opt for the easier put my feet up and nod off to sleep instead :-( Ive never felt like this in my life and wish I could make it stop

I've been dizzy for a year. This last week I couln't make it to work it was so bad, really bad, and really depressing.

Finally after having been through the physical therapy for BPPV (Epply procedure) on 3 ocassions, visits to neurologists, EKG's, blood tests, urine tests, x-rays, cat scans, and countless other procedures where the medical industry milked me like a cow and then dumped me onto yet another MD, I had enough. Thousands of dollars later and I still feel awful. They say "don't worry" insurance will pay for it as if "insurance companies" just fell out of the sky and they were the ones paying for everything. The insurance companies are paid by us, our salaries, and our hard work.

Regardless, I finally saw an ENT yesterday who beleives all of this is low adrenaline. The good thing is that this MD collected information, analyzed it, and then after having gotten as much information out of me as possible, he formulated a hypothesis and implemented at treatment that would either prove or disprove his hypothesis. Dizziness as all of you know is vague and could be anything. But fortunately, I now have an MD who is working to solve the problem and who recognizes that my cows milk has already been depleted by the rest of the milk sucking medical industry.

I'm a bit paranoid at this juncture, but hopeful that this will work out (resolve the adrenaline problem). All the "meclizine" and "antivert (strong meclizine) treatments are "patches" and won't fix jack. Best of luck to everyone living with this because it is really awful. I just want everyone to get better, thats why I'm posting this as added information

Loading...

Meclizine didn't do a thing for me either. I also tried two different supplements for adrenal support and they made my symptoms worse, not better. But at least your doctor is trying to find the root cause.
