Okay, so my periods are usually heavy and now I'm having a light period were I could wear the same pad all day and it wouldn't have hardly any blood. (Which I do switch them for no stink. Just sayin.. ) And I know it's not pregnancy. I was just wondering if there's any idea of what it could be. I have been working out more and eating more healthy and its summer now so is that the problem? Or what? Thanks for the help -kate

Light periods are normal. There will be times in your life when your cycles change. It could be a long term change or it could just be something short lived that was brought on by stress or common illness. It is most likely that you have either been stressed about something or you have just had a natural hormone fluctuation.

An eating disorder, excessive exercise, or a thyroid condition can also cause a woman to have light periods. Women who use hormonal contraceptives, including oral contraceptives, may also experience lighter periods.

Give it some time and see how the next few months go.
