I'm 15 (turning 16 soon) I get this feeling, exactly as you're describing it, 4 times a week or more.
It started when I was about 6 years old, and it usually happens when I'm somewhere with a lot of people, and everyone is talking, and it feels like everything is being fast forwarded.

seizures, Classical migraine. Pain is not necessarily experienced.
Temporal Lobe Epilepsy
The Epstein-Barr virus, which can cause infectious mononucleosis, also known as 'glandular fever' or 'mono'.
At some point one of us would have been hospitalized....
It might be a alimentation problem, I am no doctor by no means, but this is not a placebo or subconscious result that i get when i drink water. and several previous writers in this forum suggested that it was hypoglycemy also. I beleived that at some point but did all my checkups and they were just fine. I tested for diabetese also . My brother has astma but i dont see the link to me....as some mentionned having astma. WE might just be deficient in some substance or vitamin. I really dont take enough supplement and my alimentation is lacking. Eating in the morning a complete meal is important. It helped me a lot. I do not play video games like those maniac today ( no offence). I play once in a blue moon. My doctor didnt seem to know what it was about. I was scared too and sometimes felt like I was going to lose control and start screaming at the bottom of my lungs. But I really think its the panic of feeling something beyond our physical control. Tell your son that its normal to feel the way he does. He just needs to know how to deal with it by drinking a cup of sugared water. Try that ....But really its just that it feels so strange thats what is scary. thats all not to worry.

They mention that noise is typically conceived of as being detrimental for cognitive performance.. and suggests that the hypodopaminergic brain need higher input noise to function to its full potential.
The thought that noise can effect our brain activity and release what we need to function says a lot since it seems mine happen so often with lack of noise, I truly believe this has a lot to do with this "experience" that we all share.

I'm actually scared because I've just had meningitis and don't know if this is dangerous. But feeling is good tho.

my little girl (age 10 ) has recently started having these episodes exactly as described here by everyone - it seems to be triggered by repetitive sounds like car indicators but today she had her 5th episode in the school dining hall at lunch time she says it was because it was so noisy - this one really freaked her out with it being at school but also because she couldn't get away from the noise and so it lasted alot longer then the previous.
I took her to the doctors for the second time - the first he just took her blood pressure and pulse and said it was strange but he wan't worried!! Today he has referred her to the paediatric docs at the hospital.
It started a few days after she fell and banged her head badly so I have linked that but the doctor says that is a red herring and he thinks it is more an anxiety thing than medical. She is fine in herself and no other symptoms but this is freaking her out (and me!!).
