Glad to know this isn't a rare brain melt down.
Also had these since I was very young, they used to scare me so much for reasons I'll explain below, I'm 26 now and they happen maybe once a year or if I get into an incredibly foul mood, not all the time it seems like certain conditions have to be in play.
I had one just a moment ago, it is a very quiet night and I've been left alone with my thoughts. I had a bad day in work and I've tried to quit smoking again recently which has made me incredibly irritable to the silliest of things so I've wound myself up.
How it goes for me does not seem to different to anyone else. First things start to speed up to a rapid pace though I know everything is at normal speed, if I'm holding something it starts to feel much bigger, I feel very aware of everything around me and then comes the part I hate the most the screaming/ berating in my head (why they used to scare me so much when I was young).
I know it's my voice and all my thoughts but it's not something I would usually think or say, they're all very angry thoughts either against others or myself, the few times I've had this around people I have had to make a quick exit.
I do think the voice part is mainly because I do not vent anger or sadness too often, maybe it's some kind of five to ten minuet release but I'm thoroughly confused by the rest of it, it's not something I really want to have.
It's not always like this, sometimes it just loud racing thoughts that I can hardly keep up with.

Has anyone come up with a diagnosis at all with this yet?
Sorry to be lazy but with 70 or so pages already in play here it's hard to skim through.

Same thing here... it's actually happening to me right now. Everything looks like I'm travelling through time and it's so quick but I also feel that it's actually not like that. It started when I was on holiday at the age of 8 . I actually has a dream about everything travelling through time and years and then when I woke up I just lay there looking at everyone moving as fast as light. There voice was quick and even my toothbrush was very heavy .
I am now 12 and a half and it happens more often . I see the same dream before it happens and it freaks me out.
Can anyone tell me what this is?
I would love it if this would stop so I can move normally with no fear of it happening again.

This happened to me today. Like you said I got it never young when I was alone. Eveything to me becomes more exaggerated like my thoughts and the sounds around me. When i was little I heard my inner voice because it was like my thoughts were going faster than normal. Now that I am more conscious of this "thing" I can somewhat have a comversation with myself

But now my daughter is having them she's 12 she started last year I wish someone could do something to take them away.

Oh my god... I've been feeling like this ever since I was little (I'm now 20), and didn't know what was happening to me. It usually happens when I'm concentrating, or focusing on one thing, for example, It's happening right now, and I'm just doing an assignment. It feels like everything around me is happening and moving very fast, and my thoughts get really loud like they're shouting in my head. It also feels like things are really far away, like when I was little, and someone was talking to me, I would think they were meters away from me when they were really close.
I'm so glad I've found other people that have this as well, as I've never been able to properly explain it to my parents or anything.
I don't get it much anymore, it used to happen a lot when I was younger, but now it happens maybe once or twice a year - this is the first time it's happened this year

This thing hapen to me aswell. I am 20. Some time for me its a bit disturbing because i try to get rid of it and dont go. But if its for one minute and not too strong then its cool.
The touch of things like wall, fillow and furniture become soft (not in practical). My body movements feel very fast. My brain seem to be fighting but i always fail to figure out why and with who is it trying to fight.

This would happen ALL the time to me when I was younger (around 7 years old) right after a SPECIFIC nightmare. Last time it happened to me was 5-6 months ago -which I oddly enjoyed. I wanna know more about this and I'm glad I'm not the only one who has expirenced it.

I have had this same feeling! I've tried to look it up online before but nothing ever came up! I'm so glad I found others that have experienced this same bizarre episode. I too used to experience it more regularly as a child. I'm 37 now and haven't experienced it in about 7 or so years. I remember standing in my walk in wardrobe and experiencing it. It's not a scary or panicked or unpleasant experience. It's almost like an elated feeling. Anyway just glad to have found others that have experienced it. I've been diagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder as well as showing signs of borderline. My mother also suffered from severe depression (and killed herself). My grandfather also struggled with mental health issues and had alzheimers before he passed away. Just thought I'd list those here in case anyone else has any other similarities.

Hi. So sorry about your mom. I get them too. I'm actually having one right now. I'm 30 years old and have been getting them since I was a young kid. All of my movements seem so rapid and my thoughts are going a million miles a minute. But in reality I know everything is going at a lower pace. It's so strange. I wish a doctor could tell us what is going on. I've asked my husband if he gets them and he looked at me like I had gone insane. Is it just a girl thing??

It's 4:48 am and it's happening to me , I'm 18 now but when I was younger it would happen a lot more than usual. I never understood what it was but I mean I'm kinda relieved I can relate to some people now. It sacred me in a way to think everything is happening super fast and I know I maybe moving slow but it's feels like I'm walking faster and moving very quickly with my actions.

Glad to know that its not anything serious. I'm 20 now and I also get the feeling that everything is moving very fast but slow at the same time. I call it 'fast slow feeling'. Nobody gets it when I try to explain it to them. It doesnt happen very often but it happens usually when im not talking to anyone and my brain starts wondering off and thinking too much, or when i talk to myself in my head (because theres nobody to talk to, not cus im crazy hahahaha).
Anyway, im not really concerned about it but sometimes it just gets a bit annoying when im trying to get ready to head out or something. But Im glad that theres so many other people who experience this too!
