omg finally I've found somebody who knows what I'm talking about. I'm a 15 year old boy with dyslexia and short term memory loss, and when i was younger this exact 'fast feeling' u are talking about would happen all the time. You said it doesn't worry you but although it doesn't happen often when it is happening it terrifies me, i feel trapped like everybody is screaming at me with urgency but seem strangely calm about the whole thing. And at the same time i am panicking trying anything i can to make time go back to normal.
I also seem to experience feelings like I'm trapped in a box or, more commonly, feel like I'm sitting at the bottom of a half pipe. And every time i try running up the sides i slide or am pulled down by somebody back into the middle. The person pulling me down is always this man who looks like Freddy Crooger from Nightmare on Elm Street crossed with the Babadook from the film The Babadook. sometimes in the night i will see him standing in the corner of my dark room or outside my window. I know that he isn't real but all of these feelings combined with my memory being messed up, perception of reality being questionable when i hear loud bangs that just didn't happen and the occasional feeling of somebody tapping my arm when I'm alone in a room, the feeling of time moving at different speeds and feeling like I'm physically trapped in a box or half pipe.
I just trapped in my own mind and I'm glad that some people at least can relate to some things that I'm talking about.

Yes, this would also happen to me. I would have a nightmare, and the rest would follow.

Laurence. I sorry you have to experience this chronic illness, on the level you have. I too have a short term auditory memory, mine is more affiliated with sequential memory, particularly around numeracy foremost. Although I also struggle with names of people, songs, where I left items.
You may want to consider whether you have any physical symptoms of other illnesses, as I believe from my own personal circumstances, that viruses can impact on individuals learning and cognitive abilities from a very young age if they are infected with a virus that often portrays itself as the common cold and flu, however is in fact a lot more complicated in severity and is linked to poorly understood mosquito borne viruses, in which some have been found to be highly contagious through sexual transmission with partners. Any good luck and maybe see a tarot reader, you may in fact be also gifted with being able to see spirits and perhaps never considered this an option. It is a very strange world we live in and I feel the answers are out there, some people look for them in the heavens above where all I see is clouds and the universe. However I have seen ghosts and felt their presence on occasions, the same ghosts have also been seen by other members of my own family in one particular room.
I think it takes a particularly sensitive person to be able to see the other worlds which surely must exist all around us, but invisible.

I just had this happen to me, I've had this happen since I was young, I'm 16 now, but I think it is a little bit different than how you explained, everything got louder and more intense almost as if everything was being violently directed towards me, very odd, I hope I'm okay haha

Oh god, I don't typically get involved in forum threads but I think I need to participate on this one, you guys are the only ones that it seems to understand.
20 minutes ago I had this "attack", I still feel weird but not as before, everything on my mind started to go on "fast mode", but my body was acting normal, my mind was wandering and thinking super fast, but I don't know what the hell I was thinking, I just kept hearing noises inside my head, as voices or just strange sounds, and I felt very scary about myself, I thought I was going crazy, I think I'm crazy.

Laurence exactly!
This line: "i feel trapped like everybody is screaming at me with urgency but seem strangely calm about the whole thing. And at the same time i am panicking trying anything i can to make time go back to normal."
That's exactly what happens to me, not every day but once in a span of like 6 months or so, it's a terrible feeling.

Hi there. Check out vestibular immune system issues. Ask whether he experiences ringing in his ears, and a feeling ear being blocked by wax but the ear is cleaned. Sometimes I get a kind of pulsing dull ring in both my ears too, but generally rare. I've had a burst ear drum after getting head in the head when I was 17, though distinctly recall having it prior to then. When I was younger upto 36, I used to enjoy the fast sensation, though I don't recall having any adverse symptoms like I've described during the event. I now suspect that the underlying cause is a viral infection, that people contract when they are young and the fast sensation is part of the immune response trying to fight the disease, don't ask me why the sensation would happen. I've asked a few doctors, family and several friends plus some strangers and work colleagues about it, usually while it was not happening, they just figured I was crazy. My IQ was measured as a young boy it was very good with putting together complicated concepts when I had all the puzzle pieces, 20/20 hearing, even now. Good eye sight, only got reading glasses in 2013 as eyes were starting to hurt while looking at bright computer screens or driving at night.
Now I have extreme photosensitivity. Always had hypersensitive hearing. Was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 26 (2006), and just this year with a past ross river virus infection (which has some similar symptoms to ADHD). Anyway I think the underlying issue is the immune system fighting my virus, which I suspect I contracted when I was 7. My life has been a lot of upheaval, but I also had issues with my sexuality but that's totally unrelated and was diagnosed when I was 12.5 with a short term auditory memory and receptive/expressive disorder, some of which I grew out of and some which the Ritalin permanently altered my synapse pathways for the better so more aware even though not prescribed Ritalin since 2013. think about whether your son might have contracted a mosquito virus or bacteria from an insect bite. It could be unrelated in your sons case, but let him know and he can assess any emerging issues as he becomes older. I feel the sensation matures into something worse like what I've recently worked out mostly myself, but I'm still in the process of sorting out the autoimmune disease with my doctors, a viral/bacterial issue it's something an immunologist would be best to determine.

It's definitely not only physiological in nature, there are certain natural triggers involved. Look at trying to improve your diet through foods that enhance your bodies immune system, endocrine system, lymphatic system and nervous system. You should need medicine unless it's is so severe it impacts your abilities if you experience for longer than a few minutes at a time. Just relax and go with the flow, think of it like your body is realising energy, as everything exists as energy. If it's bad though for you and makes your life miserable then it's an issue. Not everyone has to know. I asked my physchiartrist if she had ever heard of any her patients or anyone with it and she said no, she didn't seem to phased but I had to see her to get my Ritalin and She said I was her most stable patient hahaha But I'm also very intelligent when I'm not feeling sick, so I psyhco-scientifically analyse things and work them out pretty quick. Though some puzzles, you need lots of time (years) before you find the missing pieces and start to truly understand things properly, maybe I've been lucky. But just keep an open mind and give yourself the opportunity now and then to let your subconscious mind guide you in the right direction. listen to your bodies pains, note them down in an app, otherwise you will tend to forget in a few days, you might start to notice patterns. But definetely note down the occurrence and longevity of the fast sensations above all else, these are like windows into your body, mind and soul.
