There is no one symptom or set of symptoms that can be directly attributed to H. pylori infection. Some of the symptoms that may be associated with infection include nausea, abdominal pain, esophageal reflux, dyspepsia (upper and mid-abdominal pain), bloating, or belching. Conversely, one may be completely asymptomatic for many years, having no symptoms at all.

The only way to know for sure if you have H. pylori is to be tested. If you believe you may be infected, make an appointment to speak to your doctor, especially if you have any persistent signs or symptoms that concern you.

To learn more about different testing methods for Helicobacter pylori read the Testing for H. pylori section that describes the various ways physicians test for the infection. One highly recommended testing method is the Urea Breath Test, which offers a simple, non-invasive testing option – and provides extremely reliable results. In fact, various clinical publications confirmed that Urea Breath Testing is still the non-invasive test of choice for diagnosing H. pylori.

Remember, if you think you might have H. pylori, speak to your healthcare professional. The only way to know for sure is to be tested.

i started having these pains about 8 months ago. it will come and go. but i also just had my first child 6 months ago when i first had it i woke up early in morning and couldnt breath the rib stomack and back pain was so harsh. i thought i was in labor. i went to hospital and of course once i got there i ended up throwing up and after that about 20 minutes later it just instantly went away,. i kept having and after i had my child i was so happy i wouldnt have to deal with it no more. but a week or two later it came back. and more intense then ever ANYTHING i ate made it to hurt and i would have to take a steaming hot shower with the water pounding on my back and i would throw up only then would everything be okay. i finally wouldnt leave my dr alone about it after he percribed me 2 diffrent meds to treat it. i had an ultrasound done and i had galstones i got my galblatter removed just about 2 months ago and never had it since other then today. i was literally on the ground crying becouse i couldnt breath i couldnt take the pain. my back was throbing and so was underneith my rib cage my ribs and in the middle of my 2 rib cages right under neith the breast line. i called the dr. hopefully when i go in tomrrow he will no what is wrong becouse i cant keep doing this it will not go away im tired of not feeling normal and being afraid to eat even crackers. or soup. but to your question i dont know what it is i know it is harsh intense pain. but the only way i got rid of it was breathing in deep threw my nose and heavy out my mouth making your head go into a circular motion,.and pushing your belly up in the direction of your head. a REALLYY hot shower with the water being harshly poounded on your back like a massage. and throwing up is the only way i found to get rid of it. i hope these ways help you

I would suggest everyone looks into IBS. IBS is really common. Also as a helpful hint try eating something with mint, or try drinking mint tea. It is supposed to help with upset stomachs and IBS.

I'm a 21 year old female.

I had the same sensations of which you were speaking. It hurt from my navel all the way up to my chest. It would always get worse after eating. First I was told it was Gastritis, gas, or just reflux. After finally getting an ultrasound done though, it turned out that my gall bladder had stones completely filling it, and these stones were now over-flowing and falling into my body.

It was a very painful experience. The fix was easy though, since I had insurance at the time. Had the gall bladder removed and do not experience pain like that anymore. There are some weird side effects from not having a gall bladder, but it sure beats the ridiculous amounts of pain I was experiencing.

Quit drinking soda and similar caffeinated and/or carbonated drinks. I'm the same and 17 and after reading a lot online tonight I think that's what it is.

I have had all kinds of tests, blood work and they are going to do more tests. The pain is so bad after I eat. I am not in so much pain prior to eating. I am also afraid to eat, but get so weak if I don't. The doctors say that it is a mystery. In the mean time I am suffering. Nothing helps. I have the same symptoms, my back aches so bad, the more the painful the cramping the worse my back hurts. Does anyone have any suggestions?
