You guys should look up "sucrose malabsorption" - it's the body inability to digest sugars properly. High frucstose corn syrup drinks tend to cause bloating, nausea, and diarrhea.

I've narrowed my particular sensitivity (resulting in the upset stomach and other gastric/digestion problems) to any soda with yellow coloring (Mt. Dew, Mello Yello, even "soda-like" energy drinks of the "yellow" or citrus variety). I can drink other soda without experiencing any symptoms.I am actually quitting all soda, though - just for the diversity of health reasons. My plan is to try to drink alot more water, and very little other beverages, sticking to primarily water with occasional fruit juices, and limiting coffee to one per day (can't give that up).

if it's diet sodas it's happening with it's probably the artificial sweetner. do you know that people who drink diet soda verses people who drink regular soda actually gain more weight?! just because it's diet doesn't mean it's better for you. bottled drinks are under pressure and that's what keeps them fresh for so long, fountain drinks are not, they're in huge bags so they have more preservatives than bottle because theres no pressure keeping them fresh.

The Fountain taps aren't being cleaned. It's caused by what is called a coliform bacteria. It makes a lot of people sick really fast. Complaints aren't reaching the right people. Soda fountain Nozzles HAVE to be cleaned daily, usually in a mild bleach water mix to kill the bacteria. A lot of young workers overlook this task because they just want to get of work and do other things.

I agree to this as with me the experience of drinking a diet coke diet pepsi, pepsi, coke has been the same. I would either get a very bad stomache upset or develop gastritis, So i too have given on all aernated drinks that are black. I am fine if i am having a small glass of sprite or 7 -Up.

I have the same exact problem!! I am only 13 and it's hard to fit in with other people without drinking sodas in parties, et. I throw up everything I ate that day after drinking soda, even a little bit. Once, I almost literally died because I had no water and so on for 2 days. Can anyone help? It's not caffeine allergy or anything like that. Hope anyone can find an answer to this. Just thinking about it makes me feel sick. :'(
