I am sorry for what you have gone through...I have been there, it will get better after the ureters are healed, but it is never the same..I am curious along with others if your surgery was in Minnesota ?

Seems problem is still persisting.. Consult a Urology specialist immediately and depending on the severity it may require to redo the surgery…

In 2006 I too had urter cautherizsed after hysterectomy that went unnoticed for two weeks post opp. Bt this time urine was leaking (gushing) out everytime I stood up. After many attemps to insert a stint i ended up with a tube coming out of my right lower back for the urine to drain. This helped but was the worst thing i had gone through even after having 3 children. Much complications and pain. Then getting reconstructive ureter re-implation to bladder was no picnick either. But it did work. Now some 8 years later I still have complications. Still have pain in my back where the tube was and also pain in my kidney occasionally. I seem to have constipation problems and still tire easily. I am now 52 years old. Am i the only one and has anyone else ever gotten any compensation for this?

Hi all,
I'm not sure if anyone is checking this thread since I know it's been around awhile. I spent some timing reading everyone's messages this morning and am so amazed at everyone's resiliency. I had hoped I was at the end of my journey with this issue but now I'm not so sure.
I had laproscopic surgery for endometriosis last week. I had already a partial hysterectomy and was having my left ovary removed as well. I felt sore but not anything unusual when I woke up. I made it at home for three nights with increasing pain until I knew something was wrong. I called the gyn on call during the night on Friday and was told to take more vicodin. My PCP was the doctor who advocated for me the next morning when I was in even worse pain. A trip to the ER and a CT Scan and X-ray later and I was told my ureter had been perforated during my surgery. I had a stent placed that afternoon.
I've been home a couple days now and I guess I was assuming I would feel better than I do. My pain level is a lot lower but bad enough that I'm pretty much unable to do anything. I started looking online to get more info on where this path to recovery might take me and I found all of you. I am crossing my fingers my healing can end up being counted in days or weeks instead of months. I hope the same for anyone else reading this.
