Hi, my doctor was certain that my pain was caused by a kidney stone, so he sent me to ureteroscopy. After the procedure, it turned out that I didn’t have any stones in my kidneys. I was very confused, and I still am. The doctor told me that he will continue examening me, but I lost a confidance in him. Does anyone know what could be cause of this?

Hello, I’m sorry you went through this for nothing. Ureteroscopy is not a pleasant procedure. However, you eliminated one of the possible reasons for your pain. Didn’t your doctor check you first with the x-rays before he did an ureteroscopy? I think he could see this way if you had kidney stones or not. Symptoms of this condition are the extreme pain, which occurs when a stone acutely blocks the flow of urine, a cramping pain in the back and side in the area of the kidney. You probably had all these symptoms when doctor sent you to ureteroscopy. I’m not shore what else could be causing all these things, the best is to go to another doctor for second opinion.
