used to be pink, now ends are purple or dark colored vaginal lips

i noticed mine is turning grayish and purple. Somebody recommended using lemon juice to lighten it. Made it worse. ow its blue. :( I am not used to this and I am definably going to see a doctor at a clinic. Has anyone else used apple cider vinegar to douche? I also wash with shampoo the outside and folds. could not balancing a douche with correct amounts of water/vinegar do it. I got rejected recently for the way the color is? Has anybody else been rejected from it? Does this happen in all women? I am 34.

Mine is clean and tight and I got rejected cause the outer lips are brown and im Caucasian. it was a shock when I noticed it. Don't know if it has something to do with lack of blood flow or hormones since I have poly cystic ovarian syndrome and are over 300 lbs. Hope balancing hormones and losing weight can reverse it.

ok i know a lot of guys have responded saying they don't care what color it is, so i just wanted to offer a slightly different view.

i think the question really comes down to: which is better? while 90% of the guys will say they don't care, or if a girl let them go down there they'll be super excited already so they might not even notice, the thing is, 99.999% of the guys will say that if given a chance between a light-pink colored V and a dark-brown colored V, they would choose the former. it's like, for example, if you are stuck in the middle of the desert, and suddenly a bottle of water falls off the sky, you would be crying your eyes out and thanking god for his mercy right? but if you have a choice between getting a bottle of water and getting the rescue team to find you, you would choose the latter right?

There's nothing wrong with you. I'm 13 turning 14 and when I noticed that my vagina lips were black when they used to be pink I was insecure to. But it's absolutely normal there not going to stay pink forevever. As you get older they change and remember everyone Fagin's is different. :)

Please be aware that Lichen Sclerosis can cause these changes where the inner labia turn dark and they disappear. If you have any other symptoms such as paper cut sores, burning and red vaginal opening, or patches of white skin on your genitalia do not delay in seeing your gynecologist. 

I am 17 and also have the same problem I was a little concerned as I think it's embarrasing and discusting then I have read these and I am pretty sure I will not be as much concerned now thanks guys :)

yeah i have that same thing. i mean i am aways scared that if anyone other than my current boyfriend would see it that they would be disgusted but alot of our guy generation has to do with that. guys are really immature about this now a days but everyone i have been with has nvr said a word about it or stopped being with me because of it. one guy even said to other people that it was cute, not saying i wasn't mad that he discussed it with other people lol. but i am always scared of this, that i can't be confident. i am even afraid to go to the gyno because of it. i am only 20 but i know that i need to go and face my fears. i know that this has been like this before i have ever had sex so it's nothing like that. but it's good to know that other people have this. guys have it too. trust me.  so i guess this fear has been uplifted from me. maybe. i just have to go to the doctor to really have closure on this. i just don't want them to look differently upon me. i get nervous because some of the doctors are so pretty and i guess i get kind of jealous. lol anyways. just be happy with what god gave you. there are so many people on this earth that you shouldn't worry too much. and plus guys at an early age are immature so if anyone does say anything to you, you'll figure out the truth later on in life. college, careers, marrige. it will work out. keep your head up :)

you are wrong. some of these girls are not sexually active. i know i wasn't when i noticed mine. there are girls that have their pictures up and are so confident with the way that they look and they look the same. do u think if it was an std of a yeast infection that they would showing it all over the internet? highly HIGHLY doubt it. did u know that only about 10 percent of woman can have orgasms through vaginal sex alone???? is that because of an infection or std? no it was the way god made them and also women who do have larger and darker labia's recieve more stimulation and feels so much better than women who don't? hmmmm. wonder why that is......

Let me add my voice here, girls as a man with experience with numerous women (I'm a gynecologist).

As you become more mature, your vulva will change in appearance. Weight gain can and will change the appearance of your labia majora (outer lips). For most women, your labia minora (inner lips) typically become darker at the outer edges as your body matures. This is regardless of the length or thickness of your labia minora.

From a personal standpoint as a heterosexual man of some years (I'm 55) and with sexual experience with 14 women over the course of my adult life, I can honestly say that I do not really care what color(s) my partner's vulva displays. I find all of them beautiful. In my view, the reds, purples and blue blacks are like decoration and I think they make her vulva even more lovely and interesting than if her vulva was just the color of her skin. Think of the reds, and purples as decoration as I do. They enhance the look of your body, not detract from it.

You women are always your own worst critics when it comes to your appearance. And, almost to a man, you see things we never will. We wear love (or lust) goggles that hide your imperfections. And we see you as we want you to appear. To us, you are the most beautiful woman that ever lived. Ask your boyfriend or girlfriend about that. He or she will confirm it. And he or she doesn't care what you look like between your legs. He or she is just happy that you let him/her make love to you.

What I'm trying to say in far too many words is that you are worried about something that we men aren't generally even aware of or don't notice and that many (like me) even find attractive. So, give yourself a break and stop worrying. If you think it might indicate some malady or the change is sudden then go see your gynecologist for an exam. But just stop worrying about it, otherwise.

Don't forget your race/ethnicity comes into play a lot as well.. As a handsome, intelligent, tall, and good-looking 27 year old man that's been with the farther side of 20+ women, I can tell you that your heritage plays a major part in your vagina's appearance. For example: White women that are strictly Northern-European descent generally have the lightest pink private areas, not varying in color much, along with Russian and North-Asian. Southern-European and Southern-Asian Women generally have darker private parts.. African descent women have the darkest... (I'm speaking geographically, and generally.)Then we have American Woman (and South-American Woman) - which are a whirlwind mix of different races and ethnicity.. Sure, you look white, but you have a Native-American grandparent, maybe a great-great-grandmother that was East-African... Which, you may not believe with your blonde hair and blue eyes - but look at your private parts, there is your proof, the trace of your past.Also - on a side note.. I have loved all of the vaginas I've been with, for one reason or another, and they have been all different! Some have inner labia that are completely hidden, some peak out, some are always visible.. some one color, some two colors, some a variance or blend of many colors... all beautiful, and completely normal, in their own way. (Same goes for women and their self-conscious issues with their nipples - size, shape, color - stop worrying...) Also, I've been with some women long enough to see their private areas go from light to dark, then back to light, etc.. almost like the seasons - completely normal!Personal Note - I will say I was DEFINITELY a bit surprised at the variance in color from Caucasian women to Asian, but have grown accustomed to it and love my southern-asian woman's colors that go from her dark tan skin color, to a greyish purple, a vivid deep purple, and then a soft purple-pink, to the brightest most vivid pink... makes the solid plain light-pink ones sort of boring! ;)
