you could be I a continuous circle the antibiotics get rid of bv but also kill good bacteria then that starts thrush take thrush medication and that starts the bv again.

Whilst you wait to see your new |Dr I would try a few things to try to reduce irritation. Have a look at the underwear your wearing, is it cotton, as some synthetic types can cause irritation and make you more likely to get thrush or become sore. Again look at the detergent you use, some can cause irritation, you may want to hand wash your underwear in a gentle non biological detergent avoiding fabric softer. Soap, shower gel and bath products can be another source of irritation, for a while try an unperfumed variety. I know as Americans your fans of the douche, but in the UK or at least on the tiny island I live on we don't have them. Your vagina is quite capable of keeping itself clean. I don't mean you never need to wash ito.O but inside it's quite able to keep clean with it's natural lubricant, some soaps and over cleansing can change the PH balance and cause irritation. There are creams you can buy over the counter such as lanacane (that's it's name here) it's made to stop vaginal soreness, itching and dryness. It may also be beneficial even if you think you don't need it, to use a water based lubricant for sex, just until you get this looked at.
