i have the same exact problem . i have done tons of research about this and my doctor says im clean no std no yeast infecction nothing . please listen to me closely what im gonna tell you wont eliminate your symptoms at 100% but will probably help you since it helped ME . i was desperate and did not know what to do until i thought of STOP USING regular PADS . i started using COTTON ORGANIC HYPOALLERGENIC PADS and oh wow did it make a difference . i still have some itching before and after my period but its a lot less. my symptoms have been reduced about 80% , so far this is the only thing that helps me .and sometimes and only sometimes i would apply a little bit of vagisil you can get that with no prescription.at the pharmacy. i can certainly tell you that this has made a HUGE DIFFERENCE FOR ME i started using cotton organic pads about 3months ago and the itching is less and less every month. i know im sending you this 1year later but i hope this helps .

I had this issue when I first started getting my curse, I'm a heavy bleeder and no nothing wrong. As my body adapted to the new levels of hormones the itch went away, now for the last several months I get the itch at the end of my curse, annoying as hell as its right above the hood of my clit. My mom said that before she had to have a complete hysterectomy these where the same symptoms she experienced as a pre-menopausal woman. I keep saying I'm ready to go through the change, it would be nice to not be anemic all the time!

I'm so glad I found this thread, now I know I'm not alone in this issue! I'm 27 and STD free, but I've been experiencing this kind of soreness during my period for the past 2 years. There is no unusual discharge. I don't have a yeast or bacterial infection. On the first day of my period it's usually fine, but as the days pass it gets worse. At the end of my period I'll look at it in the mirror and there'll be an inflamed, swollen spot on one side of the opening of my vagina. For me it's not so much itchy as it is just sore and uncomfortable. And it goes away after a few days.
The only thing that helps relieve the pain for me is to dip a cotton ball in some tea tree oil and gently rub it on the spot. The oil gives it a slightly cool, tingly, numbing sensation. If yours is REALLY inflamed or sensitive, I would not recommend doing this because it may burn! But you can dilute the tea tree oil if need be. Other than that I just let it heal on its own. I don't know what else to do.

Its not an allergy my doc (which is female) explained to me that your estrogen levels fluctuate and can cause the irritation around time for your period I use regular hydrocortisone cream and it helps a lot until it's over

Honestly, I blame tampons!!!!!
I switched to an organic brand and then had to use the major brands and immediately developed this problem you guys are mentioning. My period ended but I'm tempted to put in a organic one and see if it makes this awful feeling go away.

I have dealt with it i believe it's just dry and hormones are trying to balance back out. I take a glove and did my pinky finger in organic coconut oil and it soothes away

I place right at the opening of my vaginal and go in a circular motion making sure I coat it very well. And after 2 days of doing this I'm ok.

This is the exact thing that happens to me. I use the nyastin cream and it helps but sex inflames it. May I ask your age? I am 48

I have had the same problem for years. Doctors only said its from. Wearing a pad all week. Getting no air. But i use essential oils and found a mixture of 5 dropsTea Tree oil and a table spoon of olice oil. Applied wearing a latex glove or fingers alone. Around and on the lips. Warm cool feel. A couple applications, is what works for me.
