Omg.. - am so thankful for this site! I thought i thought I was the only one who was going thru this. This is the second time this has happened to me. The first
Time it lasted a couple of days I used ice and vagisil I did not wear any underwear.
This time is horrible!!! This is day three of this burning, itchy mess! It started off as just a little irritation but now it is sooo swollen and sore that I don't want anything or anyone to touch me. I looked for remedies so I tried apple cider vinegar in bath water.. Nothing happened! I poured peroxide down there and even though it burned like he double hockey sticks the pain stopped immediately. I plan on going to the gyno and see if there is something that she can give me for the swelling

I have had this problem driving me CRAZY for the last ten years at least .... Doctor after doctor and no joy. Misdiagnosed as a sexually transmitted disease and the treatment for that just about killed me with the pain, I tried to persevere but only lasted a few days at best ... I think 4 was my best.
OH JOY !!!!!!!! OH BLISS !!!!!!!!! I recently had to have parts of my labia removed because it had turned to cancer. Okay done is done. Diagnosis is .... Genital Lichen Sclerosus .... or LS treatment with a steroid cream or gel.
It is not contagious and not sexually transmitted and it dosent travel into the vagina (apparently)just really bad when it itches which for me made moments when I felt like I could rip the skin from my body rather than live with it ... and just as quickly as it comes on - after washing and applying a soothing cream and relaxing a bit - it would pass. Sure enough it would be back soon enough but the temporary relief was better than none.
SEE YOUR DOCTOR and ask to be referred to a specialist - dermatologist, I went to the womens hospital and their team was great. They say that it's likely many more women suffer from this than ever tell ... well .. it is embarrassing and just uncomfortable having someone poking around in your privates.
It can turn to cancer if left untreated. For me it did and had to be removed now I have just discovered 4 pea sized lumps on the front of my vulva so doctor next week to find out what THATS all about. I'll let you know.
Search it on the net .. I had hoped to copy and paste the info the doctor sent me but my copy and paste is not co-operating from this computer. When I get to the other computer I should have copy and paste available to me and will post the info.
Keep smiling and do it ASAP.
J
Try some of these links even though they do play down the severity a bit .... this group seems interesting I/m going there now to have a look.

I have the same problem...It is most definitely a ph problem...so stay away from acidic food and try if possible not to have to much sex in one night...this will make it worse! Ladies do not put power down there...and don't take the blow dryer to it wow! Cold cream ...kinds that we used on baby can be used and when irritated drink +++water...pee out the unwanted bacteria if any! I would never recomment inserting anything in the vagina without consulting ur doctor! I know there is an old wise tall that yogurt helps cure this...however I have never tried this...plain yogurt if u dare!

After struggling with intense vaginal itching and recurring bacterial infections for over a year, I finally figured out it was my diet. I've never eaten a lot of fruits and vegetables, instead relying on supplements. I realized that over the past year or so, I was rarely eating *any.* It threw off the pH of my body, causing the problem. I don't think it's enough to just fix the pH in your vagina -- that's just putting a bandaid on the problem. I think to fix the problem completely, you have to balance out the pH in your entire body. Eat more fruits and veggies! If you google "balancing body pH" you'll come up with some lists of how different foods react in the body.

Ok, Ladies. I hear you loud and clear. I had all of your symptons for over 2 years. Vaginal itching, a yellowish discharge, dryness, painful sex with tearing sometimes. I had taken so many things over the counter and prescription for yeast infections. I even started using preperation H to ease the symptons. My gyno did a biopsy (OUCH!!) and sent me to a dermatologist who sent me to a specialist. This specialist (don't know if we can use specific names) was a God send. She was amazing. I am here to say I have been CURED for over 8 months. And you won't believe how simple it was. My vitamin D level was to low. According to my blood work I was within the allowable range but this Dr has found that for some women that isn't enough. I was put on an extremely high dose of vitamin D for 3 months (50,000iu 3x a week), then gradually reduced down over the next 3 months, then put on a maintance level of Vitamin D and calcium (50,000iu 1x per week and calcium daily). You won't believe the difference! I can finally wear any pants that I want and not worry about rubbing and most importantly I can enjoy my sex life with my husband again.
Plus there was a bonus to this treatment plan. I had horrible periods. Not necessarily heavy bleeding but unbelievable cramps. I would cramp all the way up under my ribs, like someone was shreading my insides. That is exactly what was happening. With low levels of vitamin D you body doesn't produce new cells quick enough. Which in the uterus that means there isn't a thick enough wall of cells to be shed during menstration. So my uterus was trying to shed cells that weren't there and in the process taking healthy cells that weren't ready so be shed.
I try to tell everyone about this treatment because it is just giving your body what it really needs. Not another drug. This isn't a quick fix but it is a fix you can live with for the rest of your life! I hope this helps at least one person.

First time doing this, bear with me. You need to go to your doctor and tell them you need CORDRAN.05% IN EURAX 10% CREAM. I know the name sounds like something made up, but, believe me this will stop the itching and tenderness that you are having. I had the same thing. Good Luck. Hope you get to feeling better.

Okay Ladies,
So I also have this problem but don't worry I have found something that works. After suffering through this over and over for the last 3 years I finally found something that works well for me. If you take a little bit of apple cider vinegar and dilute it with some cool water then take a cotton ball or even a wash cloth depending on the area and set it over the irritated area. You should leave it for about 15 minutes if possible. It will sting a little bit but think of it was working, like when a scratch scabs and starts to itch. After you remove the cotton ball or cloth you should make sure you let it dry. You should notice almost instant results if its red and swollen the color should change back to normal after a few times of this. You can also apply some cream after if you think you need to.
I hope this helps you out. :)
Other things to remember, there are several things that can cause irritation.
new laundry soap or dyer sheets
different body wash, bar soap, shampoo.
If you buy new undergarments you should wash them first because some dyes can irritate.
Another thing you might want to do is sanitize your undergarments in boiling water if you have this itching thing going on to make certain you kill any bacteria or yeast on them.
Let me know if this has helped out.
