I feel exactly the same way. like as if this virus doesn't want to leave my body. my doctor says that it will have to run its course. I have tried to rest and eat healthily but to no avail. just want to get my life back as it was before this virus took hold.

I am in SF and I have had the exact same symptoms and trajectory as most of you. Ok one day, not OK the next. SOOO frustrating and making life really hard to manage. I have never rested more in my life, but it just keeps going. I am in week 6. egads. It just keeps coming back--nausea, chills, weakness, slight fever, runny nose.

I'm in San Diego and dealing with the same thing, although I've also had vomitting (twice for more than 24 hours) along with the irritable diarrhea, etc. Sore throat, achiness that won't go away, fever up and down, sore throat, chills + bronchial infection PLUS kidney infection. I'm going on Month 4 now. Its ridiculous. What is happening here? I've had every.single.vaccine.known.to.man. I travel a lot and suspect that part of it is due to that, but I'm an avid hand washer and am very careful about not drinking or eating after others and always cover my own nose and mouth when someone coughs near me. I hate to sound like a hypochondriac, but being sick for FOUR solid months will make you overly cautious! I'm now taking Emergen-C daily, getting a B-12 shot every other week, taking a pro-biotic, etc.
What kind of flu strain is this and IS it curable or even able to be vaccinated against? WTF

I too am suffering for a cough since November of last year. I have seen my doctor twice and a specialist. I have been given antibiotics, allergy medicine, steroids and nothing helps for more than a few days and then the cough comes back. I do not suffer from stomach ache or any temperature just a nagging cough and phlegm. My throat tickles then all of a sudden I'm coughing and my eyes sometimes run tears which resembles an allergy which is why I asked my doctor to prescribe an allergy medication. Nothing helps. I cough most of the night. I found two others who suffer from the same symptoms and they said the same thing is prescribed allergy pills and steroids and nothing helps. Will someone explain what kind of virus this is and why there is nothing mentioned about it from the Health Dept or any other administration?

It's now April of 2015 and I'm hoping that you recovered because since November of last year, I too in NY, have been suffering from these symptoms - constant coughing with tears running from my eyes, sore throat and phlegm. I have taken antibiotics, allergy medication, steroids and regular cough mixtures and got relief for a day or two then it returns. I've heard from others here in NY that it's a virus that there is no cure for. The body just has to fight against it. This is disheartening as I'm already compromised with diabetes. I'm taking vitamins, iron and trying to do some exercises to see if that will help. Please tell me that you recovered and that all is well. I also had a chest xray and it's fine.

Hi Lefay: I noticed you posted over a year ago. Have you been cured as yet. I'm been sick with the same symptoms since November of 2014, It's now April 2015 and I'm still sick. I do not have a fever or stomach ache just a nagging cough and a sore throat. Would like to hear how long this actually and if one can eventually get cured. Thank you.

I'm hoping that by this time you're feeling well again. I came down with similar illness in November of last year, stiff neck, sore throat and a cough that won't go away. I saw my doctor several times and a specialist. Nothing worked, not antibiotics, allergy pills, steroids, liquids rest...
it's now April and I'm still coughing. The steroids helped for a few days I only coughed occasionally and then it returned. Drinking water helps and I've decided to stay away from dairy products as I had some ice cream and ended up with diarrhea, not sure if it was the ice cream itself or the virus. Every where I go I cough and people come up to me and tell me that they have it too going on a year etc. It's time CDC do something about this . it's no way to live

Viruses actually take longer to eradicate these days because so many antibiotics are used in our food. Things you think would not have them do. Cheese for shelf life. You like pizza everytime you have a slice you get a very small dose of antibiotic. Years ago when I bought cheese it would turn green in a week if not used. These days if you forget cheese in fridge for 10 months it still looks like the day you bought it even though it is way past expiration date. Its just the way it is and we have to live with it. Unless you start a movement or keep writing your representatives. Good luck.
