cardiac pt - wbc's of over 11,000 for over a month, now elevated mean platelets and elevated pro-bnp, what do these mean
You likely have an infection of some sort, from the elevated WBC (white blood cell) count. It can vary but is usually from 3500-10500.
High pro-bnp can indicate a renal problem (the kidneys remove BNP). As such elevated levels DO NOT necessarily mean there is a cardiac problem but it certainly can indicate that one exists.
Elevated mean platelets can indicate a higher risk of possible cardiac related events.
These are only three pieces of information. Discuss the findings with your doctror. You can't just take these items out of context.
