weight gain and tubal ligation!

Dear All,

My wife is going to be delivered our second child. As the delivery is going to be in C-section, we were seriously thinking about the Tubal ligation, as our doctor told that it is permanent, easy procedure and doesn't have any side effects and more healthy. We almost decided to go for that. Even I did study in the internet to findout the best option. There also, recommending that Tubal is very easy and healthy, no side effects. During my seach, I came to this site and happened to read all your feedback in Tubal ligation. I didn't see any positive feedbacks on Tubal in this site. Thanks to you all for sharing your experience. After reading all these, we decided not to for that. We decided to go for the NFP or some other methods. We dont want to invite any unwanted problems by doing Tubal. Thanks to all. Praying God to show some right solution for your problems.

I also am gaining weight. I had a tubal March 25 and now it's June 20. I came home from the hospital at 160 and now I'm 168. I'm nervous! Not easy being a woman!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck all.

I am 29, I had my second child at 25. I decided to do a tubal (tubal done right after birth)and have gained excessive weight after having the procedure done. I have always been small but curvy where it needed to be. I was told while I was pregnant that it makes you gain weight. I honestly thought the person was trying to find something to blame her heaviness on, but heck no it is soooo true! I probably couldnt lose the weight if they cut the fat off me.

i had a tubal in december 2010, since then i have gone up 3 dress sizes and gone from 14 stone to 17+ stone.... i eat healthy i have a very strict diet as im allergic to gluten, i mainly eat veg, meat, salads and fruit... i walk about 4-5 miles a day and cycle 2-3 a day aswell i also do zumba exercises every night for half a hour..... since having a tubal i have terrible mood swings, very heavy and painful periods, sore breasts , my skin complection has got really bad (but before tubal was smooth), i get really depressed and cry for no reason, not to mention how big i am now... i dislike myself and have lost alot of confidence.... and all my doctor can say is that im over weight and need to exercise .... hello what do u think i been doin everyday!... i would not recommend a tubal to anyone.....

I had my tubal in Jan. & noticed some weight gain & then had an ablation in Oct. & have started gaining weight. I think both these procedures make you gain weight but I don't know why. I'm kind of wishing I wouldn't have had either procedure done.

Get your Hormones checked, and in the mean time google search Androgens and Hirtsutism. If there is an increase in Androgen the doctor can prescribe Spironolactone which blocks the Androgen receptors and it will help decrease the weight. Search for Androgen with weight loss.

I have gained weight after my tubal I think it was because I ate alot of junk at night and didn't have a active life. Within the year and half after I had my tubal thru only gained 20lbs which I didn't like so I decided to do something about it I joined a gym and walk 5miles a day and I lost 30 lbs in for months. I cut out the fried foods as well. So ladies there is hope don't give up when u don't see results right away with hard work, and dedication u will see the results your looking for. I completely understand after having my forth child i had a tubal ligation done and ever since have gained so much weight i have always been 115 and am now 170lbs this is driving me crazy. i am very unhappy about my body i don't like going shopping for myself because of the size i ware now. This has completely made me hide in a shell when i have always been a very active person.

YES I HAVE AND I JUST GOT MY TUBES TIED 1 MONTH AGO. AND IM 29 YEARS OLD BEING SKINNY ALL MY LIFE IF U SEE ME U WILL NEVER EVEN THINK I HAVE 4 KIDS MY NORMALLY WEIGHT USE TO BE 100 POUNDS AND I WEIGHT 130 AND WENT I HAD MY BABY MARCH 7,2012 I WAS 100 AND NOW ITS BEEN A MONTH SINCE I TIED MY TUBES I WEIGHT 130POUNDS.

Yes I gained a lot of weight after tubal ligation. I then had my reversal tubal ligation, and lost weight. After I turned 41, I gained 20 more pounds through my menapause at age 45. I wish I never had my tube tied at all.

I did too I found your question after trying to find out if it causes weight gain. I just dont get it I am not eating diffrent or doing anything diffrent. I have had four children and after the fourth I said thats all. After all of my pregnancys I have had a quick recovory of my shape butthis time I just cant get the weight off.

yes i have i had a tubal ligation feb 2010,and before that i had a hight metabolizem,but sinch the persdure iv gained 80 pounds,im scared im never going to loss it because before the surgery i would gain a few pounds but take it right back off,now i work out constley and havent lost a pound ..SOMEONE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE TO LOSS THIS WEIGHT..PLEASE

I know this topic is 4 years old but the same exact thing happned to me after my tubiligation January 29th 1993 my weight use to just fall off right after mykids

were born but now I'm gained so much weight it' crazy I tell women not to get this procedure.
