In January 2014 I had the cooper 10 year IUD inserted and I actually lost weight from 140lbs to 125lbs in just a month or so. However my menstral periods were so heavy it was unbearable. I would soak a super tampon in 1-2 hours with a pad lining my underwear just in case it leaked through but usuallyit did leak through regardless. I was a size 5-6. I couldn't handle the heavy periods so I decided to go with the 5year mirena IUD in Nov 15. It did help the heavy menstral cycle however it felt like I was retaining so much water I blew up. I wore a size 6 but by the end of December of 2015 I was squeezing uncomfortably into a 9-10. I had it removed in April 2016 and was able to go back at least to a size 8-9 weighing 145-150lbs. I had a tubal ligation procedure in Jun 2016and it's the end of August I weigh nearly 173lbs and am a size 14-15. I have changed eating habits (eating less) and even started exercising 3-4 times a week(more than my daily walk). My periods are about the same but the cramping is much worse. My sexual activity was the same but now at this size I don't want to even change clothes in front of my boyfriend of 5 years. I am very uncomfortable and can't seem to lose even A pound. I am 30 and have never been this big before ever.

I just had my tubes tied at the end of August about 6 weeks after my 4th was born. During those 6 weeks I lost about 20 lbs. Just 3 months after my tubal and I've gained 40 lbs. I workout daily, eat very well and I breastfeed. I've never had issues in the past losing weight. If its not my tubal I don't know what else it could be.

I feel your pain. I just had mine tied in August and I've gained about 40 lbs and I'm very moody, I can honestly burst out crying over the smallest things. I've always been a jogger and I workout daily and I can't make that scale budge.
I hope it gets better for you.

Hey what your going through is exactly what I am I had tubal ligation with filshie clips in November last year so one year next month and I've been in and out of hospitals since seeing different doctors telling them about the pain and emotional difference I feel since the tubal. THey just prescribe me antibiotics and nerve pain meds then "muscle relaxers" they say. I'm going crazy literally like I have so many health problems that I have never had before I'm acually pushing for the hysterectomy as I have a friend who had the same situation fevers, aches and pains, heavy periods etc... She said she felt a great relief after having hysterectomy. I want it done but my doctors are against it because I'm only 23 but I have 3 kids. Its like no one will listen to the pain and struggle I've had since the tubal please give me advice if you had the tubal reversed or hysterectomy? ?
Thanks for listening

I am thinking about doing my tubal but all my friends say that's the one regret that they have made. They got fat after getting the tubal. So I'm like nope it's not worth it. We'll see if hubby wants his stuff tied. With out him I can't get pregnant .

You can have a tubal reversal. I just had my tubes tied in 2014 and my doctor assured me we can have it reversed if we ever want too.

I was told the same thing, that my tubes will be tied and my doctor cut ant burnt my tubes and I am going thru the same problems with my period and weight gain in my belly I also gain alot of weight after getting this surgery These doctors are hiding the truth and don't tell you everything to expect or what comes after this surgery before you get it done

I had my tubes tied 3 years ago. I have 3 kids, I have not gained any weight. I am the smallest I ever been in my life. It all depends on your lifestyle. I workout everyday and I eat healthy. Having your tubes tided doesn't cause any hormone changes so it has no effect on your body. You can't blame your lifestyle of unhealthy eating habits and weight gain from your tubes being tied. If you really wanted to lose weight you would. Talking about it doesn't get you no where. Doctors don't lie about any hidden side effects, my periods are normal. Yes, after you have kids most likely your periods will change. If your weight gain is so bad maybe do something about it, and change your lifestyle.

I had 4 kids by age of 23. I had tubal done 6 months after my baby. I weighed 103 day of tubal, 4 weeks later I was 112lbs. I never had weight issues before tubal, now 14 years later im 135, I do a level of 30 day shred, a level of ripped in 30, plus 45 minutes of cardio 5x a week. I can't lose it. everyone is different, and surgeries can affect people diffrently. FYI, doctors are starting to recognize there is a connection.

Agree. Was always skinny til tubes tied in 1984. Was 115. Now weigh 190. Only thing that worked for a time were phentermine diet pills. I don't overeat and with menopause it's all midsection and butt.
