I'm sorry to hear about your car accident! I hope that your recovery goes well. Until you are done with recovery, however, I think it would be a very good idea not to drink alcohol until then. It can prolong our recovery and make things difficult. Plus, I assume that you are taking antibiotics, painkillers, or both, and both of those can have adverse effects on you when consumed with alcohol. For the next 4 to 6 weeks, just take it easy! Get good rest, eat well, take your medication as necessary. Just be good to yourself but be gentle. You'll be feeling better in no time.

Hi,
I'm sorry to hear about the accident as well.
healthnfitnessguy gives some good advice. Lay off of alcohol for a while. Take it easy and get some rest. You may tire easily just after surgery.
You are going to be more susceptible to infections too. Start thinking clean. Wash your hands often, especially after being out in public and touching doors or handling things that lots of others touch. Keep up on your meds and try to eat healthy.
Good luck.
