I have been suffering from Hiatus hernia for the last 5 yrs and except for heartburn now and again which I take a liquid antacid it hasn't caused much problem. However a week ago I got the feeling like there is a lump in my Throat. When I was eating it felt like the food was having problems going down and felt like it was impacted in my throat and there is slight pressure in the neck which the adams apple is which would go away a couple of hours later when it felt like the food had finally gone down. I had the urge to be sick to bring the food up and when I was sick it was just thick sticky saliva with bits of food stuck in it. I now cannot eat normal food as I fear I will choke. I have been on shop bought and homemade liquid soups (no lumps) Ice cream and Complan (for people who cannot eat) I suffer with anxiety and can get panicky when I eat even liquids. I drink water, 2 coffee's a day, Apple juice and also Manuka honey in warm water as I heard this helps. Since this C19 I will not go to a Dr or Hospital. I take calcium tablets as I heard a calcium defiency could be the problem but only been on them for 4 days so too early to tell. I also have the symptoms of low iron. I have lost 20lbs in a week. My husbands thinks its anxiety but I not sure. Last night when I went to bed I had a strange feeling in my throat and felt sick. I tried to be sick but all that came up was this white frothy saliva. I feel weak and tired. Sorry to ramble on.

Hi, guest.

We have a great article which is explaining the possible causes of your problem. You can read it HERE.

As you can see, both you and your husband can be right. To be sure, you will need a medical exam. But, you can wait a bit and see if it is all just from stress or not.

I presume you don't smoke? Or drink carbonated drinks? That also can be the cause of sticky mucus in the throat.
