Implantation happens 6-7 days after fertilization. It’s one step in establishing pregnancy. It’s the first week of human life. Embryo development and differentiation of endometrial happen during that the first week. Implantation bleeding doesn’t necessary happen, but may be one of the first signs. Hi wolfenbarger,

As Ratliff said, implantation is basically first and very important step in successfully conceiving because that is when fertilized egg attaches itself to the uterine walls so it can grow and develop further. But, implantation bleeding happens a bit later, roughly around the time a pregnant woman misses her first period.

Implantation bleeding happens because the egg that attaches  to the uterine walls sometimes causes small blood vessels to  rupture and this causes very light, bright red or pink spotting or mild bleeding that lasts only for about a day, which makes it different from a period. And yes, the egg does not always cause the blood vessels to rupture, so not all women experience implantation bleeding, even though implantation does happen.
