My cousin will be have a renal stent implant and has also stated that her kidneys will be attached to her abdominal walls. She has stated that she will not be able to use the stairs and must sleep sitting up. She has also stated that she will be given medicine and supplements that she will likely vomit back up regularly.
With all this being said, she is not giving us the specific name of her procedure stating she doesn't quite remember. It seems that she will need around the clock assistance but I don't really know. She is obviously very scared to tell anyone the severity of this surgery but what she has told me is enough to make me nervous. I insisted that I will relocate to assist her but I don't really know what to expect. Will she be able to bathe herself and will she need assistance with the bathroom? Also, will she be able to control her bowels or urine functions? I am hoping that someone can tell me some of the possible scenerios so that I am not taken by surprise. Her hospital stay will be close to a week or a bit more.
