age 15: my dog tried to kill me and pushed me down a flight of stairs. Bounced all the way on my tailbone and fractured it. Didn't find out for weeks afterwards when I fell on it roller skating.

age 22: nasty car accident at the shore. Wasn't wearing seatbelt, bad concussion, whiplash which caused permanent nerve damage in my neck and shoulders and persistent back problems from this one. I still get freaked out in the car when someone's driving erratically or really really fast. And I HATE the freeway to this day (another reason to dislike Philly)

fortunately those were about it.

Incident 1: Tore Quadricept while running track in HS. Didn't hurt right away. Went out to dinner with team, noticed leg was a little stiff and baggy jeans weren't quite so baggy... Got home, removed jeans, passed out from pain. Worst pain I ever felt, probably the closest I will ever come to childbirth. Incident 2: Working for uncle's elevator business with inexperienced mechanic. While working on call station (while elevator was live) he had me press call station button. Blew 30 amp fuse (DC) with my entire body. For those of you who don't know, ac and dc cause body to react differently. AC kicks you away, DC causes you to clamp up. I clamped up until fuse blew, stranding one elevator. Inexperienced mechanic, not believeing my act, proceeds to press other call station button, with same effect, stranding second elevator. Had to run up 25 floors to change fuses in elevator. As close as I ever came to wetting my pants in adulthood (except maybe Queens Half Marathon, but that's another story). Incident 3: On my way to take college graduation pictures, car in right lane spun out of control on parkway, blocking my lane causing collision. Seatbelt unfastened, windshield hat. 80 stitches to seal handy dandy scalp ziplock. New girlfriend at time (only dating a few months) still hasn't forgiven me for scaring her, even if she did eventually agree to marry me. :pinklove:

Only one...practicing on the police obstacle course I had a horrible judgement lapse/adrenaline rush and managed to scale the 9 foot wall easily, but like a complete id**t jumped off tearing up most of the ligaments in my knee. Being the brave id**t I am, I finished the course. Later I was in so much pain I had to leave the movies as my sobbing would disturb others. Three surgeries and several hours in PT later, I can run, AND I have the world's ugliest scar for a good conversation piece.

Why actually, no, I was perfectlysober for THAT blading accident. The lickered up one was last July 4th, and I had a bottle of wine in one hand and a leash attached to a speeding dog in the other. I tripped and went down and ended up with some stitches in my pinky and a FINE bruise/gash (now healed) on my chin.
Believe it or not I do enough damage to myself while sober. Alcohol is merely an incendiary device.

19---got my finger crushed in a conveyor belt at a Paper mill where I worked a few summers of college, it was too damaged to save and had to amputate the tip.....it was the worst summer of my life.....seeing that I "still" had to go back to work 2 weeks later in the warehouse with drills and hammers.....I was a nervous wreck.

23---distant second. waiting in line at the par 3 golf course a 4 yr old boy being cutesy trying to carrying daddy's bag, drops it on my foot.....the zipper catches my calf all the way down. The father looks and walks away as if nothing happened. The cashier gives me a band-aid. Once I get the bleeding under control.....I go to the bar and get drunk rather than getting stitches.......it took about 4 months to heal and I have a 3 inch scar to this day

Age 5: Hit by a car on way home from kindergarten. No major damage, mom really pissed that crossing guard pinned a note to my shirt saying i'd been hit by a car but looked okay.

Age 19: rolled my car at 90+ mph... car totaled and barely recognizable, i got out with just a scratch on my arm

Age 30: stick my finger in a running mower like a dumb ass. split end of index finger down to bone, shattering bone partially. few stitches and a lot of pain.

Age 30: wrestling match ensues after evening of heavy partying, i end up with major gash above right eye, no stitches because i was too drunk to get out of the car and walk into the emergency room. eye swollen shut the next day, still have ugly scar but it's hidden nicely by my eyebrow.

When I was 4 or 5, I was riding my tricycle and either fell off a retaining wall or hit a stairway hand railing. I had to go and get stitches in my forehead from that one.

When I was a freshmen at Purdue (18 years old), I was riding my bicycle around a turn and it just dropped out from under me. Had some nice road rash on my elbows, knees, and somehow my hip.

I have had a couple other bicycle accidents, but none as sever as that.

So far, no other broken bones or stiches. Although a little while ago I almost became a hood ornament when some chick almost pulled out in front of me while I was riding my bicycle. I was only inches from her front bumper and fender when she stopped.
