I hate that right now, since I'm only three weeks into running, I love running more when I'm NOT running than when I am. I gobble up books and magazines on the subject and spend time on running forums, and I'm all like "yeah! I'm a runner!" And then times like this morning when I'm like "30 seconds to go before my walk break?!" I'm wondering why I got into this mess.

The guilt I carry when I do not run!
The inability to hit my goal and make a mediocre finish.
Hitting a 22nd mile and saying, "I quit"...and knowing your mind just checked out on you.
Anytime your mind checks out on you at any given moment.
Shin splints!
CHAFFING!! I'm scarred for life!

What I hate about running is not being able to run. Other than that I love running. :)

long runs in the summer heatI personally love the heat. I like being drained and sweating out every drop of water in my body (or so it seems). It's a purgation I guess.

ALL OF US have gone through exactly the same feelings. Whether its people like me who do it to stay in shape, or sub 3 hour marathoners we all have our fantastic days and our can't even get rolling days.
