I have problems with Chron's disease. I have it for longer period of time. My mother also had it. I have been on different treatments during my condition. None of them was too effective. Now my doctor wants to give me Remicade. Is this medication approved for treatment of Chron's disease by FDA and when?
It is relatively new way of treatment for the Chron's disease. FDA has approved Remicade for treatment of Chron's disease in August 1998. It is given intravenously and the infusion takes between 2 to 3 hours. Remicade has shown that it is great method of treating this disease. It acts by blocking a key biologic response mediator called TNF.
