Hi. I’m planning to start working out to keep myself in shape and good condition. I’m wondering when is the best time to exersize – early in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening or at any time?? What are your experiences?? Thanks.

I really think that the best time to exercise is very individual thing. I prefer exercising early in the morning (sometimes even early as 5 am). After a good n nice jogging and stretching I take long shower and after that I feel ready for the day ahead. It keeps me relaxed and sharp.

I think the best time to exersize completely depends on your body and your mind. If you are tired and feel like a nap after exersizing, maybe you should exersize at night. If you feel sharp and refreshed after a warm-up or a jog, morning might be best. My 8th grade teacher talked to our class the other day, he said exersizing an hour or so before bed will help your sleep be more benifitail and it might even make it easier for you to wake up in the morning.

hi there! Thanx for such a good info on exercising at the evening! I am sure it could be beneficial, helps us sleep better, etc but when I think of exercising at the evening after a hard working day, I somehow just don’t feel like it. I prefer to do it in the morning, so that I can be prepared for a hard working day. Thank you for your thoughts and you are so right about exercising when I person feels like it, as long as they exercise.

Studies have proven that exercising in the evening prohibits a good night's sleep. A light walk would not prove detrimental, but anything strenous is not a good idea.

For me, I have found that in the early morning I get the best exercise results and benefits. And of course, never exercise on a full stomach.

to your good health,

The best time to exercise is as soon as you wake up, before eating breakfast ("break the body's fast"). Throughout the night your body utilises it's glycogen stores, that is, the carbohydrates you've consumed the previous day. Therefore by exercising before consuming anymore crabs in the morning, your body uses its fat stores for energy. Simple as that.
