Hi, I would like to know why do we take iron with vitamin C, and is it really useful combination. In my opinion we are eating too many vitamins every day, so it all can’t be absorbed.

Hi, if someone is taking multivitamins every day, you are right, many of these supplements are not absorbed. Specially, if you take it after meal and it all gets mixed with food, it’s absorption is even lower. You need to make at least two hours break between taking multivitamins and food. And iron is better absorbed in acid pH, so any food that provides it is beneficial for iron absorption. It is good to take some sorrow salad with meat, as it increases iron absorption.
