Will kidney problems cause swelling?

Yes, they can.

Yes because kidneys take the excess fluid from your body and convert it into pee and puts it into your bladder which you pee out. If your kidney function is less then your body will retain fluid and you will have swelling in such extremities such as your legs, hands and feet.

It is possible that kidney problems cause swelling in legs, hands and feet but all this depends on the cause of your kidney problems.

If you have kidney infection than it is very possible that you will have these swellings as a consequence and especially if you haven’t treated on time. Also if you suffer from kidney stones this can happen but rarely. Anyhow if you think that this is very strange in your case you should contact your doctor.
