Hi, I am 25 years old and I have serious problems with my acnes on the face. My skin is problematic and also, I have been having some issues with the ovaries. Doctor said that my irregular periods are caused by a condition called polycystic ovaries. So there is a hormonal misbalance, could that be a reason for woman to have an acne issue – is it always a hormonal problem?

Very often, as the result of that hormonal misbalance, especially when it comes to estrogen and progesterone hormones, polycystic ovaries might occur and acne problems too. This condition is treated with hormonal therapy; I guess you will be prescribed with some birth control pills that contain the mentioned hormones. With that kind of treatment, misbalance should disappear, acnes too.
