Avoid Sleep Lines To Keep Your Skin Clear
Different people choose different positions while sleeping. If you want smooth skin, free of wrinkles, you have to change some of your sleeping habits. The American Academy of Dermatology (ADD) has proven that sleeping in some specific positions every night may lead to “sleep lines”. You might be wondering what sleep lines are. Sleep lines are a kind of wrinkles that become etched into the surface of the skin on your face. These wrinkles may not disappear once you are up. Sleeping on the side forms wrinkles on your cheeks and sleeping face-down gives a furrowed brow. To avoid getting any sleep lines, you are advised to sleep on your back.

More Fish = Youthful Skin
If you have ever visited a dermatologist, you might know that dermatologists advise their patients to eat more fish in order to have a wrinkle-free skin. Dermatologists encourage eating fish because salmon, along with many other cold-water fish, is a great source of protein. Proteins are the building blocks of your skin. Fish is also a great source of an essential fatty acid – omega 3 — which is very useful for the body in many ways. Dermatologist Nicholas Perricone MD says that fatty acids keep the skin nourished, youthful, and plump which helps reduce wrinkles and also protects from further wrinkle formation.

Don’t Squint – Get Glasses
The muscles of the face are controlled by the seventh cranial nerve known as the "optic nerve". Repetitive facial movements such as squinting make your facial muscles work more than they should, which results in the formation of grooves beneath the skin’s surface. These grooves eventually turn into permanent wrinkles. The best way to avoid getting these grooves is the use of reading glasses if needed. If you live in a climate with heavy sunshine, you should also make the use of sunglasses a priority because they protect the skin around the eyes from sun damage and squinting. This will have you maintain a fresh wrinkle-free skin for much longer.

Trade Coffee For Cocoa
Replace your coffee with cocoa because cocoa is useful for your skin more than you have ever known. Cocoa and all cocoa products contain high levels of two dietary flavonols (catechin & epicatechin) which are natural protectors against damage caused by the oxidation process. Their antioxidant property helps the skin stay safe from any kind of damage and prevents the breakdown of collagen. Besides that, they also help prevent the formation of wrinkles and other signs of aging. If you want to get rid of wrinkles, want your skin to stay fresh and young, and want to take care of it from outside and inside, use cocoa instead of coffee.

Use Alpha-Hydroxy Acid Skin Products
The use of Alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) is highly recommended because it has the ability to break the bonds that hold damaged and dry skin cells together. By breaking these bonds, you get fresh, healthy, and youthful skin. Besides that, AHAs also decrease the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face. Lines disappear quite fast while deep wrinkles are stubborn and take some time to disappear. AHAs remarkably increase the elasticity of the skin. This helps to plump out wrinkles as well as fine lines. They also help remove layers of dead skin, making wrinkles less prominent.

Use Facial Cleanser – Not Soap
Have you ever wondered why most people use facial cleansers instead of soap? Well, there are many reasons but the main reason is that soap dries your skin out. The facial skin is very sensitive, and using soap makes it so dry that wrinkles start to appear. Dermatologists strictly advise against using soap on the face because soap makes the skin dry and has a basic PH that can irritate your skin sometimes, especially if your skin is very sensitive. Facial cleansers are the best choice because they don’t only clean your skin but also feed your skin. Using facial cleansers will make your skin wrinkle free, fresh, and smooth.

Eat More Soy Food
Soy foods are very good for your skin. The sun is one of the enemies of your skin. If you have too much exposure to direct sunlight, wrinkles may appear at an early age, and that will obviously make you look older. But soy can take care of it. Research show that soy effectively helps protect against sunlight and heal some of the photo-aging damage that was already caused by the sun. A study was published in the European Journal of Nutrition which reported that soy based supplements improved the skin’s firmness and structure within six months. If you want to look young as you feel inside, start eating soy foods such as soy nuts, soybeans, and tofu.

Wear Sunscreen Or Avoid The Sun
If you really want to have a beautiful skin and want to keep your skin looking fresh and young, start with following the essentials. One of the most important points is protecting your skin from direct sunlight. Try to stay indoors rather than wandering around on the streets in the sun. Wear sunscreen whenever you go to a beach, picnic, or any other place with direct sunshine. Buying a hat and putting it on is also a good idea if you don’t want dead facial skin because of direct exposure to sunlight. Using moisturizers also help your skin in staying fresh and wrinkle free.

Try Topical Vitamin C
Vitamin C is great for your skin. A study at Tulane University found that vitamin C increases collagen production, which helps your skin stay healthy and fresh. Using topical vitamin C creates a layer over your skin that protects your skin from ultraviolet rays (UVA and UVB). Besides that, it also has the ability to improve inflammatory skin conditions and correct pigmentation problems. This prevents an aging, tired appearance annd makes your skin look glowing and youthful instead. Who wouldn't want that? There are different types of vitamin C, but L-ascorbic acid was found to be most potent against wrinkles.

Don't Over-Wash Your Face
Washing your face at least 2 times a day with face wash is recommended by dermatologists. If you come back home from outdoors, you can wash your face one more time if you really feel like doing this. But the fact is that washing your face more than 3 to 4 times a day with soap, face wash, or any other product is very bad for your face. Washing your face over and over makes the muscles of the face become weaker by the day. Moreover, too much washing removes the natural oils and moisturizers of the face that protect against wrinkles. If you keep washing your face again and again, you will end up with wrinkles on your face.
