Make Your Eyeshadows Do More Work
Eyeshadows can be pricey, but if you make them do more work, they're often well worth the price. Invest in a decent palette set, with a range of neutral colors and shimmery shades and you'll be able to use them as highlighters along the browbone and across the top of cheekbones. You can also mix powder eyeshadows with a little vaseline to use as cream eyeshadows, and if you choose a palette with bronze or earthy hues, you can mix them with vaseline to use as a creamy bronzer. Palettes start at as little as $5, so this is a fantastic trick.

Use Aspirin to Banish Spots
Aspirin not only helps to fight headaches and in some cases, ease the symptoms of certain heart diseases, but it can also fight spots too! Aspirin helps to blot up oils and draw out impurities - and applying a paste of aspirin and a little water can help to reduce redness and the size of spots. If you prefer, mash a little yoghurt into the aspirin paste to really clear up your skin, or, you could mash it with a little honey to make it extra nourishing. Mix the aspirin with whatever you like - experiment to create the perfect mask for your skin.

Use an Avocado Mask
Avocado is jam-packed with omega-3s, making it a uniquely healthful fruit. It's soft and creamy and works well in a salad - but if you mash it down with a little honey, it also works as a cleanser and face mask too. Honey has enzymes in it, which help to break down bacteria within the skin and keep it looking youthful, while the avocado contains enriching oils and healthy fats that will help to nourish and moisturize the skin. If you have acne or are particularly spot-prone, add a spoonful or two of natural yoghurt as this helps to combat breakouts.

Do Your Own 'Do
Doing your own 'do might sound a little bit obvious - but many people fork out a huge amount of money getting their hair blow-dried or styled at the hairdresser. Instead, do it at home yourself - it's fun, free, and easier than you might think. A curling wand can give you soft, superstar waves, while a straightening iron can make your hair sleek, smooth and bouncy - in less than an hour. Plus, pay for the irons or the wand once and you can use them over and over and over again - paying to get your 'do done at the hairdresser will give you just one beautiful hairstyle, not hundreds.

Don't Waste Your Hair and Beauty Products
This is another rather obvious tip, but bear with us - take a look in your shower. Are there a few bottles of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel that aren't quite finished? Yep, us too. But don't let them go to waste. Mix all of the odds and ends of conditioner to create one super-conditioner. The same goes for your toothpastes, moisturizers and foundations. If you can't get any more out of the bottle or tube, carefully use scissors to cut it open, or remove the screw top lid so that you can get a little more out of it. Waste not want not!

Use Coffee on Cellulite Instead of a Fancy Product
This is a bit of a unique tip, but it's definitely a good one! Cellulite can be pesky and it can be really tricky to get rid of, which means that many of us spend huge amounts of money on "miracle" fat fighting products that promise the world - but rarely deliver. One way to reduce cellulite is to mix coffee grounds with a little body lotion, then rub it into your thighs in circles, towards the direction of your heart. Leave for 10 minutes, then wash off. Do this alongside body brushing and you should really notice a difference!

Apply Tea Bags to Puffy Eyes
This is an old tip but we think it's still just as effective as ever. Cool tea bags contain a number of vitamins and enzymes, plus, the caffeine in them can really help to tighten and reduce puffy eyes and eyebags. Brew teabags, but don't brew them for too long - 30 seconds or so to make sure that they're not too weak. Leave them to cool, then sit back and relax and put them onto your eyes. Leave them on for about 10 minutes, then gently pat the eye area dry and pat in a brightening under eye cream.

Double Duty Products: Lip and Cheek Stain
Double duty products are a lifesaver for the gal trying to save money. If they can do more than one thing, they should be in your makeup bag. One of our favorite double duty products is lip and cheek stain, as you can layer it up really easily so that it can be as subtle or as show-stopping as you like. Rosy red stains are best as they suit all skintones. However, you can also use eyeshadow as highlighter, vaseline as lipgloss and clear mascara to tame your brows. Dig around in your makeup bag and see what you can use more of - you'll be surprised!

Use Baby Powder
Baby powder works really well for a huge number of needs. Rub it into the ends of hair for a beachy texture, dust a little over the face to blot sweat, and you can even dust it into the parting to use as a dry shampoo. Just be sure to really rub it in and brush well so that your hair isn't chalky gray! It's also worth using it as it was intended - pat it onto skin after a shower and your skin will be soft and smooth - just like a baby's bottom! It's much cheaper than dry shampoo and blotting powder.
