Hi,

I am 40 years old, have one 7 year old child and had thyroid cancer after her birth, so I now take synthroid. My last period started 8/3/10 and my cycle (since the cancer) can be anywhere from a 20 day cycle to the longest ever, 33 days. So, I am two close to being two months late. I have taken 4 hpt, the last one on 9/26 and the results have all been negative. Initially with the first missed period, I had phantom cramps, hot flashes, moodiness and nausesness but that all faded and I thought maybe I just skipped ovulation. Breast enlargement and sorness is a typical pms sign for me. In the last 5 days my breasts feel slightly heavy and not sore, but my nipples are incredibly sore. I am also tired. I do have some stress in my life but I it is much less now than it was this time last year and I didn't miss any periods then.

I haven't missed a period since I was 20 and when I was pregnant with my 7 year old which I the hpt told me the day I missed my period. If I forget my synthroid, it can effect my cycle but I have been religious about taking it the last two months, so.... could I be pregnant? Could it be menopause? I will see my dr next week and ask for a blood test. Any thoughts? Could having the cancer and radioactive iodine treatment changed the way my body might read a pregnancy and hormone levels?

And I am having phantom cramps again but infrequently and my back aches from time to time. I do not 'feel' pmsy. Thanks! :D
