my 5 months old baby girl is having small dent near the ear where the paratoid gland stands under the skin....when you look her from the front it looks same face on both side but from the side have dent it looks little bit hollow or dent ...we are bit concern about that .....she is having this dent since birth..we saw this to many pediatrics they are not able to give proper answer as we have been told to make mri & other things ....we will appreciate if somebody can guide or have some experience as my baby have.

I'm 34 years old man, having a small dent on my ear since my birth, as you discribe your daughter has. The tiny dent/hole never trouble me. Out of curiosity i check with my doctor but they couldn't explain. But many years later i found the answer after watching a BBC documentary on human evolution. Basically the dent is a reminiscent of our evolutionary past from fish.
