Hello, I am a 52 yr. old woman who has been suffering the past few years with a scary symptom of spasmlike pain radiating down my throat, down to my chest in the middle, and radiating to my left ear and radiating to the center of my back by my ribs. It lasts a few minutes and gets more intense before the minutes are over. I have no arm pains at all. It happens at any time. Today I was laying down. I just get to the point I don't know if I should call an ambulance or not, then it subsides. Can someone tell me what this could be and what I should do? My doctor didn't seemed too concerned when I told her a few years ago.
Thank you.

Karla, I'm really sorry to hear that your doctor did not seem too concerned about it so I think that if I were you that I'd see an ear, nose, and throat doctor since they tend to specialize in something like that a little better. I don't really have any guesses for you but I do think that your doctor's reaction was not very helpful or good for that matter. Keep us posted on what your new doctor says if you decide to go, okay? Thanks!
