Hi there. I'm 17 years old and I woke up the night before after an odd dream. At the end of the dream, I had swallowed something and I woke up thereafter. When I did, however, it felt like I had really swallowed something and a pressure remained at the base of my throat. It doesn't exactly feel like there's a lump there... but nothing I do seems to ease it. If I eat or drink, the pressure will disappear momentarily as the things go down but then it's there again. It's really frustrating because I don't know how to solve it. I haven't been to the doctor since it's only been a day... and in hopes that it would go away, but I'm really not sure.
Has anyone ever had the same problem? I mean... it literally came out of nowhere.

I have pressure in my throat too. I have been to different specialists, but they haven't found anything yet. (In norwegian: Røntgen, Ear/nose/throat, gastroskopi. I'm waiting for CT of my throat).
The problem is difficult to describe, but "pressure" is among the words I've used.
My experience is that:
* it's not there, when I sleep, but comes few minutes after awakening.
* swallowing spit makes pressure. (Swallowing food og drink is alright!).
* a "squeeze"-sound appears after swallowing spit and the pressure - a kind of - reduces a bit.
(I'm 42 years old, male, norway).
