That would depend whether the baby was actually early or on-time. If it happened to be a full-term baby that arrived 31st August, then that would indicate the first guy being the father. If it were to be delivered 31st August, then a paternity test would be needed. I think that is the only way in any case. The sex dates are so close, you cannot be 100% sure. But if the baby arrived (say) 20th Sept, there would be strong indications it was the second guy.
