Sorry I forgot about this post. After many test the Endocrinologist discovered he has Hashomoto's Thyroiditis. He was put on meds that in about 1 wk started making him feel better. He will be on these meds for the rest of his life but he feels better and is healthy now.

I've had severe abdominal pain for years. Massive amounts of blood in my urine for the last year. (I'm 25, started when I was 16) I've had my appendix and gallbladder removed. I've had a hysterectomy leaving one ovary. I've been told everything from kidney stones, to kidney infections to its all in my head. I recently (2 weeks ago) had an ER Dr tell me from my numerous CT scans she sees more of a likelihood for non-Hodgkins lymphoma or leukemia. I'm miserable. I have to go to a urologist ($300 first visit) ugh.

I'm currently experiencing the same as your son. I'm a 21 year old female and I've been going through this from February until now (November). I haven't had all the same tests as your son but pretty close. At first they thought I had appendicitis and everything came back negative but I'm still in pain and they don't know why. I only see a GI doctor when I'm not in and out of the hospital/ER because of the pain.

My son who is 7 years old has been detected with Mesenteric Lymphadenitis from November 2014. Doctor has not given any medication. He had his 4th Ultrasonography in the last 3 months which shows the size of the lesion has decreased but not totally gone. He also had a CAT MRI Scan in december which detected thre swollen lymph glands on the mesentery walls. We have started giving him Vitamin C supplement from Nutrilitie from the last 10 days. Please advice

Went through this 18 years ago when my son was 11. Gut pain, migraine, constipation, serious weight loss...specialist after specialist. After months a doctor ran a simple thyroid test and it revealed he was suffering from hypothyroidism. Samething happened to Oprah. Her symptoms were heart related. Richest woman in American-2 years of the best medical care money can buy. Finally someone checked her thyroid and problems dissappear ed after treatment with thyroid replacement medication.

Sopheye! I'm wondering how you are doing now. Did all of the things you mentioned help you? I've been diagnosed with this and would love to go the natural route. Please let me know any suggestions as you are one year out from this post!

Thank you, and I SO hope that you recover soon! I had this as a child (never diagnosed, but one does not forget this pain) and it came back to me over 50 years later this New Year's Day. I am much improved, and thank GOD I have heft pain meds due to an awful back condition. I'd probably be lying in recovery from an appendectomy otherwise.

You poor thing--I can't believe you are able to work at all with this awful stuff!

My advice would be to PLEASE ask around and try to find a decent doctor. Are you anywhere near Mexico or Canada?

A small bowel capsule endoscopy isn’t good enough. It can’t take any samples. He may need a true small bowel endoscopy like a push enteroscopy with a real scope. Just FYI HP isn’t a virus it’s a bacteria. And you don’t seem to be able to spell surgeon, oncologist, Crohn Disease yet either! :) He should be evaluated for Celiac Disease as well & stool studies for evidence or malabsorption.
