Hi,

I have had problems drinking as long as I can remember. Even after one drink, my upper stomach will start having extreme pains. Normally I stop as soon as this happens and it will go away, but as obvious as that sounds I am now 21 and would really appreciate to be able to drink with my husband. I just returned from a festival because I had literally half of a 20 oz alcoholic drink (bacardi twisted cherry) over about 15-20 minutes and my stomach hurt so bad I considered going to the ER, which is not something I take lightly. I plan on going to the doctor, but I -DO NOT DRINK- often at all. This isn't from binge drinking or ANYTHING. I literally have only been drunk maybe three times in my life and any other time is futile because of my stomach. Also, I am a decently healthy individual and exercise for 1.5 hrs about 4-5 times a week.

Please don't post any unhelpful information like 'stop drinking' or 'go to the doctors' because literally I do not drink often at all and I would just like to know if anyone else has this problem at all or knows what it could be.

Note: This isn't nausea. This is just upper abdominal pain. I do not feel the need to vomit or go to the bathroom.

I think you might have some serious stomach acid triggered by the alcohol. This happened to me before and the doctor told me it was a severe case of stomach acid, it usually came on when ever i would take any alcoholic drink, even beer.

OMG! I'm experiencing similar symptoms. I just drank lastnight. I had a beer an a half and a cup of UV vodka last night. I've been up all night with unbearable stomach pain. I feel like I need to vomit but when I try nothing happens. I'm worried and a bit scared. After I drink, every time I wake up with my body trembling. This happens after drinking a single shot. If you have any ideas let me know.

Hey I've found that if I take tums and consistently eat throughout the duration of my drinking it makes it much more bearable. Maybe try this.

I have been having the same exact problems and it's so aggravating because I feel like no one understands. Did you ever find out what was wrong?

Did you ever find out what was wrong? I have the same problem and it sucks for me because I'm in college.
