HI I'm Jason 35 male. I have been an alcoholic for over 10 years. When I say alcoholic I mean heavy drinking every night and going harder and all day every weekend. Probably on average 7-12 beers on week days and weekends of shots and partying. I also never drank the week stuff no bud light it's always 6-8% beer. I have occasionally taken a few days off here and there just to prove to myself that I could but all in all I would say I drink about 330 of the 365 days of the year. I have two young children, a beautiful wife, a good job, and by some kind of miracle I have been able to hold things together for this long. 9 days ago after a night drinking with my boys I woke up with severe stomach pain. I called it up as a stomach ache or bug but by the end of that day the pain was so bad I went to the ER. After doing some test they told me I developed acute pancreatitis and I was in the hospital for three days.I was not on ivs and couldn't eat or drink anything for the first two days. My liver enzyme lecels were over 10 times the norm, my pancreas levels were through the roof and the pain was unberable. My levels eventually leveled out however the pain stayed even after being released. So here I am 9 days later my stomach feels a lot better outside of bloating and gas pain. I have very little energy and sleeping is very difficult. I have hot flashes every night one minute I'm freezing the next minute I sweat so bad I soak the sheets. I am not sure if this is all effects of the pancreatitis or if I am dealing with alcohol withdrawls. I am having a hard time dealing with the fact I can never drink again it's very depressing for me but I know I have to do this for my family and for myself. If anyone has been through this please respond any advise would be great.
