Is it true that intercourse during the menstrual cycle increases the risk of endometriosis? I have sex during my cycle. It doesn’t bother me at all neither my partner. However, I have irregular periods and I am worried about endometriosis. Should we stop with this?
Well, as far as I know this has not been proved. I am 42 and I have intercourse during the menstrual cycle and nothing ever happened to me. It has been suggested that intercourse during menses might increase tubal activity and increase the backflow of the menstrual cycle through the tubes and thus increase the risk of endometriosis, but I repeat this is theory. I’ve never heard that actually happened.
