I would like to know if Albuterol and Pirbuterol are in the same family? If so I am allergic to Albuterol. I was given Pirbuterol to use but was worried after Albuterol and that reaction. What should I do? My doctor said try it but still worried.
I hope someone answers this, because I have the same problem. Suffer paradoxial spasms with albuterol, so doctor and pharmacist both recommend pirbuterol. They look the same to me; in fact the information sheet suggests if you are allergic to albuteral, you might have same problem with pirbuterol (trade name Maxair).
