I totally agree with you...well kinda...I do think that thoughts do not completely determine your sexuality, but that do have a part in it. Actions are somewhat related to being gay as well, although not all of the time. There are plenty of straight people who experiment with others of the same sex.
About understanding being gay...you don't have to understand. As long is the person is comfortable and confident with his/her sexuality, it doesn't matter what you think.

I cannot tell you that you are gay or not. That is really up to you. Whatever your sexuality may be, just know that you are not weird or crazy or anything.

You are describing a fetish. Fetishes usually start in late teens or early adulthood. The best way to deal with a fetish is to stop feeding it so just stop looking at men who dress as women or she-males.
