I would like to know if anyone has ever taken amiloride during pregnancy?
Testing in animal models has shown no adverse effects on fertility or fetus.
There are, however, no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Because animal reproduction studies are not always predictive of human response, this drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed.
Also, amiloride has been shown to be expressed in milk at a higher concentration than in blood. It might be advisable to discontinue its use or stop breast feeding.
